Just a random picture of one of my cats. He was sleeping on the sofa and I was playing with the camera and snapped this. He is the most happy go lucky cat ever so getting him looking this mellow is rare. Actually getting him with the standard slit cat eyes is rare. He has HUGE eyes and the pupils are almost always round. He has this look of he never knows what is going on around him. I watched him chase his shadow earlier today, not the brightest cat.

He has an interesting story. He followed be me home about a 1/2 mile after I coaxed him out of a bush he was hiding. I had given up on him coming out out to let me pet him and as I walked away he followed me. Let me pet him a bit and then I headed home. He had flees, scabs and bald spots all over, and a limp. He followed me the entire way, all the way into my house. I was rather surprised and figured he must belong to someone. I asked the neighbors, posted online, called the local vets. No luck. I took him to the vet the next day, took care of the flees and got him standard shots. The vet said he was 6-9 months old at that point.

He was terrified of anyone but me, even my roommate. That subsided eventually and he just wouldn't get near anyone else wearing shoes. So I stared the shoes come off rule for my house. After the shoes it was discovered he was also terrified of tool boxes. I can guess why on the shoes but the tool box? No to sure what happened there. He would follow me around the house, always in the same room as me. He wouldn't even go to his food bowl unless I was in the same room.

After years (he is now around 6) it seems most of his trauma is gone. He still has trouble being held. He likes to be in laps but he had to put himself there and he really dislikes being picked up. Well, dislikes isn't the best way to put he. He is okay with being held as long as he is purring, as soon as he isn't be pet enough to be purring he wants down. I used to be the only one who could pick him up but a few months ago my boyfriend discovered he could pick him up without being clawed.

He really loves attention. When my boyfriend and I are on the computer he has the tendency to come put his front feet up on the chair and poke us with his paw until we pet him. Sometimes he will even jump on our laps. We can push him away and he will just go back and forth between us until he has had enough. There are times when he jumps in our laps over and over again and no matter how many times we put him back down he just does not seem to get it.
