Today's guest artist is the quite talented Sara Duvall. To see more of her work, check out her deviantArt page .3D has been debated by people way more passionate about the subject than me. I don't think it's the coolest thing in the world, not do I hate it. A fair parallel would be to the majority of the women I've dated in my life. I'm just sort of indifferent.
But, that's not really worthy of a post, so let me start again. "Fuck 3D! It's fucking awesome, so it should burn in burning pile of burny burniess!" How's that?

3D is such a cheap gimmick. The only reason they use it these days is because Hollywood doesn't have a damn original idea in its whole damn body, and they think they can draw people in with worthless, cheap gimmicks that went out of style back in the 70's.
How's that for pathetic? They can't come up with an original storyline that doesn't suck, and they can't even come up with an original gimmick that's not as old as dirt.

Well, I've seen a lot of movies over the years, but many of the really good, original ones I've seen were made some years back. If I had to mention any movies right off the top of my head that were actually creative and deserving of praise these days, I'd have to nominate those Futurama movies, and Family Guy Star Wars spoofs. Those are really the only good creative and original movies I've seen in recent times.

3D's okay, but I personally prefer good old 2D animation. Especially since 2D doesn't screw with my eyes.

I hear you, man. Sometimes during 3D flicks, I've just got to shut my eyes for awhile, especially in poorly filmed fight scenes where they cut around too much.

I haven't been to a 3D movie in my life, so I can't say all of it is bad. But I do know, that I hate when studios think of it as an after thought/ marketing gimmick after they've finished making the actual film. Not everything needs to be in 3D, but things that will benefit it, should be done properly. Example James Cameron had to make the colors richer/ more saturated, and increase the lighting in Avatar for people to actually see the 3D. Compared to the dark screenings I keep hearing about of 3D films, where you can hardly see what's going on, I won't be in a hurry to see things in 3D anytime soon.
