Stylistic consistency is not my strength.

Oh, I wasn't meaning the styles, I was referring to the lighting and expressions~
Though I feel ya on that; nothing about my art is truly consistent

Oh, hahaha. xD
Well in terms of lighting, the variety was definitely intentional. I've yet to learn dramatic use of color and lighting (drat my literal mind), so this was good for practicing both that and rendering.
-has given up on consistency a long time ago-
The interesting thing about that, funnily enough, is that over the last few years I've had a convergence of all the different approaches and styles I tend to fall into. It's actually been interesting to look back over it.

I dunno, I say you're pretty good at applying dramatic lights and colors~ Much more bolder than me, at least!
consistancy??? what is that??? A type of fruit??
Ooooo, perhaps you should compile your best drawings---be it due to skill in technique or just a really big, important step you took towards something---into a single, time-line like image. So, you kinda have this evolutionary lineage of styles and whatnot~

The trick is to try things, just to see what happens. ;D
Well, funny thing about that is that I recently compiled just about every drawing of Peridot I've done so I could count how many I've done (spoiler, it's 225 and rising). It gives a good indicator of artistic evolution over the last two years.
My Daily Drawings are also a great indicator of development as well (though there were definitely certain ones where things suddenly 'clicked').

True, very true! Though thats a bit hard to do if you're super worried about the results. like, it took me ages just to get around to practicing drawing humans due to that. I still don't exactly understand what I'm doing : D
O mai! That's a lotta drawings! I've noticed that your strokes have gotten cleaner, your colors more blended in with each other, you seem more confident with human anatomy (not entirely sure how to explain it better lol), and the outlines you occasionally have have definitely gotten cleaner and bolder. Now that'sa lotta improving!
Oh yeah, you can definitely clearly see the improvements in your daily drawings day-to-day. It's still insane you did that for like, what was it? Two years?

You nailed it, actually! Improved anatomy, cleaner colors, and more precise outlines are all major evolutions in how I work I've made a point of improving. As frightening as looking at some of the older drawings is, being able to see the changes is a great feeling; knowing that my work has payed off.
Two years, yeppers! I originally wanted to go on for one more (to hit 1000) but by the end of the second, I was getting to a point where I wanted to explore some different stuff. Nowadays I'm busier working on other projects, but I still like to create little dudes when I can.

: O *feels like a wienner*
Dude, that's literally the best feeling when you look back at your art, no matter how bad or cringy it is. Not just for havin a good laugh at yourself, but it's cool to see where you were, what you tried and failed to do, compared to what you can do and have been trying now. Sometimes, it makes ya wanna redo some of your earlier works~
Maybe someday you'll pick it up again and get to 1000 c: But for now, I still enjoy your lil' creatures whenever they crop up~
