Description interpol and louis xiv were part of the PSP Factory party in hollywood last week.

you can see almost the entire band with the exception of the drummer.

i think drummers almost always get left out. dunno why. photographically ... they're so uninteresting most of the time.

game developers. hollywood a-listers. hangers-on. the hollywood gamut.

but ... i got to see interpol.

in fact, i'm listening to interpol as i write this.

personally, i love lens flare. the real thing. not the bullshit filter in photoshop.

leica m6 ttl. 35mm/1.4 ASPH at 1.4. 1/250th. ilford delta 400 (normal)

I won't claim to know much about photography, but it doesnt take a genius to know that this is an eye-pleasing composition.

This is awesome! It kinda bothers me how the top of the guitar is in the way of the middle guys head, but you couldn't exactly tell them how to pose could you? And other than that it is perfect! I love Interpol!

Very nice shot.

I do agree that drummers are uninteresting most of the time, but that's because they're stuck on a fixed drumset, and can't dance around, or throw themselves to the audience, but I strongly disagree with the person who said that there's no energy in them. Riiight. I can't imagine any other instrument that requires so much physical effort. Guitar and bass players move their wrists and move about the stage; same with singers. But try pounding the crap off a drumset for a 2-hour setlist.

I find interesting how photography has become something so mundane to you. I would love to be able to hold a Leica in my hands, let alone shoot celebrities. But then I guess that's how things become so familiar, so ordinary that they lose their weight.

Keep up the brilliant work.

ya' know ... do this for as long as i have ... use the equipment that i have for as long as i have ...

the luster tends to seems less lusterous.

but ... i still totally enjoy doing what i do...

even for the lack of sleep.

thanks mate,

Love the grain. It's so fitting for an indie band to be grainy.

I saw Interpol a month and a half ago and basically it was inserted into the top five of my best concerts (granted the list is rather short for now). The bassist's playing is godlike.

left the 21mm leica lens at home as well as the 15mm voigtlander ...

when you're actually on stage with them ... a 35 or 50 is a bit "short" as it were.

thanks, though!

hey man, love to see some gig photos come from your way. admittidly though, its a bit depressing cause thats what i like to think of as one of my stronger suits and again and again im made to look like a hopeless amature(well, cause i am) anyways i really like this one, the stage lighting on both sides of the frame gives it a real nice sense of balance.

* hey Chris, it's exercise time! can you translate what I wrote in english? *

IN ENGLISH: a really beautiful photo, it's my favourite "Interpol" one. I really like the lens flare, Did you ever thought it could have been much more dynamic if you took it with a longer exposure? in order to have a blurry effect

smart ass!

is the shadow detail of film just astounding? something a sensor could only dream about!

i try.

but ... not to use lens flare filters....

that may be a good thing to market ... lens flare filters for all of the "real" glass out there....

hmmm....
