your backgrounds can really be excellent, and the first thought that came to mind was: what are the dimensions of the canvas?
at any rate, the BG makes this come alive, and it's an interesting example of making the composition dynamic while keeping the focal character simple and stylized.

I find that painting with orange and yellow is hard to come out with a color that doesnt look like poop. I like your vibrant colors of both

i used to do paintings with old screws, they're really fun if you want something else to try.
