Description
This is a replica Colt 1911 pistol I picked up at the Saratoga Arms Fair today. It's in pretty good condition and still functions for the most part. Here's what it looks like unloaded: [link]

do not know if it is possible with that replica but shouldn't the 1911 be displayed in the cocked and locked condition?

If you mean does the hammer cock back, then yes it does. Everything on the replica functions exactly as a real 1911 would (the safety, grip safety, hammer, slide, etc.). That's not to say it functions perfectly (it does have some occasional malfunctions), but if it were in mint condition it would work exactly like a real 1911.

no I meant that is the correct condition for it to be in for most all purposes,, I carry a firestar that is basically a 1911 that has been shrunk a little and I only carry it in condition one ( cocked and locked) which is the safest way to carry them

ah I see. This isn't actually a real firing 1911. The slide and frame are made from plastic, and there's a piece of metal inside the barrel. Aside from the slide and frame, pretty much everything else is metal so it looks and feels almost like a real one.

still would think for display and photography you would show it in the "correct" condition,, that was all I was saying,, I do like the 1911 anyway,, I find them a very comfortable piece to shoot,, although I prefer the commander to carry,, the shorter slide makes a lot of difference for that
