The Chemical X-Terminator

Alias: Dick Hardly

Dick Hardly is a fellow scientist to Professor Utonium and is also Utonium’s old buddy and roommate from college. Despite seeming very natured at first, Hardly is revealed to be secretly working as henchman scientist to Mojo Jojo, as he helped him build high-tech robot drones designed to extract samples of chemical X from the girls’ bloodstream, which he and Mojo would later use to create evil male counterparts of the girls, The Rowdyruff Boys. With the girls and Utonium learning about his secret, Utonium was able to confront and defeat his former acquaintance. With Dick’s numerous failures beginning to annoy him, Mojo Jojo mutates Dick against his will by tainting his tea with Chemical X, which transformed him into a disgusting mutant monster with enhanced strength, sharp claws, retractable tendrils that could electrocute enemies and the ability to detect Chemical X signatures from the girls. Initially being a mindless beast who obeyed Mojo without question, Dick’s original personality began to take back control and the Chemical X-Terminator turned on his master. Now being his own villain, The Chemical X-Terminator attacked a cloning laboratory and hooked himself up to a long line of test tubes and creating his own army of evil grotesque Powerpuff clones, designed to destroy the Powerpuff Girls once and for all.

Abilities: Chemical X signature tracking, mutated strength, sharp claws, retractable electric tendrils, the ability to spawn evil Powerpuff clones

Notes:

· While Dick Hardly was a one-time villain in the original Powerpuff Girls episode, “Knock It Off,” this iteration of Dick is a recurring villain in the series.

· The Chemical X-Terminator form of Dick is an obvious nod to Dick’s monster form at the end of “Knock It Off.” However this monster form is smaller than the original, being only 10 feet tall as oppose to 30 feet tall.

· Dick Hardly’s role of being the villain’s henchman scientist who gets forcefully mutated for his failure is similar to Baxter Stockman from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise.

· Dick’s reveal from old friend to turncoat is similar to the ex-plumber and former old friend of Max Tennyson, Phil from the Ben 10 franchise.

· The way Dick Hardly creates and commands his army of Powerpuff clones is similar to Galvatron commanding the KSI-made transformer prototypes from the fourth Transformers film, Transformers: Age of Extinction.
