Before her upgrade into a Cyberman during the Ultimate Upgrade, Anya Taylor-Joy was the face of a series of Cybus advertisements encouraging people to get a pair of Earpods. She was such a fan of the technology that she agreed to do the campaign for a minimal fee, strongly feeling that it was her duty to get as many people to use the Earpods as possible. Her loyalty to Cybus was so strong she never even questioned why she was such a big fan, or what they planned to do with the Earpods; and when the Ultimate Upgrade arrived and her Earpods took control, she obediantly followed any commands from Cybus without hesitation, and marched for her upgrade.
