Both Thomasin McKenzie and Anya Taylor-Joy were big fans of the Earpods, always keeping them plugged in and never missing a download, giving Cybus access to their brains wherever they were and slowly allowing them more and more control over their minds without realising, preparing them for complete takeover when the Ultimate Upgrade began.
They were on the red carpet together when their Earpods activated and Cybus took full control, their smiles for the cameras replaced by blank emotionless faces as their minds became emptied of thoughts and feelings by their Earpods. Directions to a Cybus factory and instructions to walk there to receive their upgrades were downloaded into their heads and without hesitation they both turned, completely in sync, and began to march.
