Jenna stopped almost without thinking when the two tone alert rang out, by now used to the signal for the Daily Download. Standing in place, she allows the Pods in her ears to activate and subdue her conscious mind, making her brain completely blank and absent of all thought and feeling as information begins to stream in from the CybustNet: news, weather, sport, everything she could need for the day ahead downloads through the devices plugged into her ears straight into her head. She stares forwards, completely entranced by the Earpods as they flash and beep, the Cybus logo at the centre of the Pods showing who really owns her brain; soon that same logo will be emblazoned in metal on the chest of her new body, her brain cut out and placed into a suit of steel armour, all emotion and personality removed, only doing as Cybus commands. She signed up for this upgrade as soon as she first wore the Earpods, not that she knew it, and the Earpods will make sure she accepts it, overriding her mind completely and forcing her to march to the factory. But this is of no concern to her now. She simply accepts the Download, laughs with everyone at the joke implanted in her brain at its end and carries on with her day, completely unaware of what her future holds.
