Like almost everyone, Maya Hawke had a pair of Earpods but unlike most people, she wasn't really too enamored with them; she wore them infrequently and missed the Daily Download often. Getting ready for a party, she knew she'd be questioned incessantly if she showed up without her Earpods in. She didn't notice that they were already flashing as she placed them in her ears. She froze, her arms falling by her side, staring blankly forwards, as the Earpods took full control of her brain; her resistant thoughts were unacceptable and would be deleted. Metal prongs emerged from each of her Earpods and meet above her head, allowing Cybus full access to her entire brain. Her thoughts and feelings are scanned thoroughly, and any hint of negativity or hesitancy to Cybus is found and removed, all while she stands completely still, her conscious mind locked away. Satisfied only obedience and loyalty to Cybus remain, the prongs retract back into the Earpods and restore Maya out of the trance. She shakes her head, unaware of what happened. She looks at her Earpods and smiles; she might start wearing them more, she's getting used to them she thinks.
