- About This Artwork -This is my third digital artwork and thus far was the most difficult for me to create. All of the textures I created myself from scratch and the cat in the foreground was drawn completely with my computer mouse. How ironic. A mouse draws a cat.
I manipulated these three photos to create parts of this artwork:

It's definately worth the money. I got a refurbished one off amazon, 150 I believe or cheaper. a bamboo fun tablet. works great even though my 2 year old daughter drew all over it with pen it still works

It was kind of along the way. While I was drawing the shapes for the cat, I thought: "what if I put a big whole in it's stomach? I can do something with that." And then the clock and the rest of it just fell into place .

O_O This really looks like a photograph. The fur is well done, as are the textures on the table, the clock on the stuffed cat's stomach, and the sky in the manipulated picture. The vertical lines give the piece a nice structure, too. Props for using a mouse! How long did it take you to work through the piece?
If you don't have Photoshop, Gimp is also a pretty decent alternative ^^

Thanks! I'm glad you think that the fur came out well. It was definitely trick to figure that out especially since the program that I use doesn't really have brushes or support for brushes.
As for how long, I'm not sure of the exact amount of hours, but I started on it 6 days before the contest ended for a couple of hours each day. Of course, if I were a pro, it probably would have been done within a day.
I was about to use Gimp for this artwork but I didn't think that I would have enough time to learn how to use it, and so I just stuck with what I was comfortable with. Maybe in the near future, if I don't already have Photoshop, I'll give Gimp another try.

I like the painting a lot, the cat-clock itself is cool too, it's just so strait in the picture that it doesn't look like lying around on the floor, first I thought it was both hanging on a wall until I read your comments. So for the feel of ground perhaps some other position would have been great, or another random object on a side...dunno
Overall it's really nice, the wood looks really woody and if you wouldn't have told in the comments I thought it was some stock image and not made by you entirely- nice !!!

Ah, I know what you mean about the wall thing. My first idea was to call it a wall but then I thought it looked more similar to a living room floor for some reason. I was going to draw something else next to it but I simply ran out of time. I posted the artwork at what I thought was the last minute, but I forgot about the different time zones.
You know what? Let's just call it a wall, a table, a floor...doesn't really matter.

cool, nice entry! I really like the idea of this fluffy clock and I have to say, you did a great job with that, especially 'cause you only used your mouse/keyboard and paint. that's pretty cool, never thought that it's possible to do cool stuff with paint, haha. you also did a nice lightning and shading work, well done and good luck!
