I went a bit overboard experimenting with the textures.
And also I didn't use any references, which I usually do, which is why the anatomy is off.
And the background sucks, of course. XDD
This was actually just a pose sketch and then I got bored and this happened.
Is there anything specifically about it you don't like? You know, so I can improve next time?
And I'm sure that if you keep practicing you'll be way better than this in no time! I mean, I only really started drawing seriously four years ago. And I've only been drawing people for about a year. I've gotten wayyy better since then, but I still think my stuff is kind of mediocre.

Well, I think what you did with the textures was cool!
I really liked that.
And, I thought the back ground was simple, but cool... I probably wouldn't be able to do that either!
Well, the only thing that I think you didn't do much of a good job at was the anatomy. And I can understand why, since you didn't use any reference, and you've only started drawing humans for a year. And, maybe his expression, it seems to lake a little bit of emotion. But, that's pretty much it!
I really like the style and coloring. So, yep, that's it!

Yes yes, I wanted to try doing poses without reference and I think this turned out alright for a first try. (I also tried to put a little perspective but I think it just backfired.)
This picture was mostly just a bunch of experimenting, so now I have a better idea of what works well and what doesn't.
And yeah, the expression isn't great. Actually, the only part of his face I like is the nose for some reason. :I

Perspective is hard, with the foreshortening and all, and its impossible before you get the hang of anatomy. I'm still getting the hang of anatomy. v.v

I love encouraging people, because four years ago I never would have thought I would be where I am today. I'm actually thinking of doing one of those "Draw this again" memes to show people how bad a sucked.

I'm not sure which I'm better at because I'm always drawing dudes, but I'm a girl so if I need a reference I can just go look in the mirror. OTL
But I mean, there are plenty of pictures of people doing all sorts of different things on the internet, so I usually use a ref.
I just looked through all my old art on my old account, and its pretty depressing. XD
Also my artist comments were stupid.
I SHOULD do one of those memes, but my problem is I used to draw nothing but wolves and cats. I'll have to find an old one of a person because I don't feel like drawing dogs today. >:U

Yeah, I don't draw girls as much, but they are a lot easier. You don't need to draw a bunch of muscles. :I
I have no muscles so idk how to draw them.
I usually go through periods where I don't feel like drawing and it takes me a week to finish one picture, to periods where I have tons of ideas and can finish multiple pictures in one day.
I went ahead and did that improvement meme. You can see how bad my old stuff was. >:U
