Finally finished this! Took about 1 million hours, more or less.I started it exactly two months ago, spent 5 or 6 days working on it when I had time.
I don't even know what to say about this, I've been looking at it for so long I just don't want to look at it anymore.
Uhh, so I figure if I keep drawing really awesome pictures of Yoki the love will rub off on other people and I will eventually have other fans of him to talk to, because I feel all aloneeee, and I just sit around and draw lonely fanarts. (Like seriously, half the pictures that come up when you search him are mine.)
So long story short I work as a housekeeper at an inn that has been restored to how it would have looked in the Victorian era, and I loveeee the master suite, the bed is huge and there are a gazillion pillows and everything is so fancy. I felt like doing a Victorian bedroom (huge mistake), and of course I wanted to draw Yoki being kind of normal and doing normal things, so this happened.
(Ps. if you will talk to me about Yoki that would make me very happy, I'm a lonely fangirl u-u)

Awwwww your tactic seems to work, I am still having this tickling urge to draw Yoki inspired by your pics.
This already seemed amazing from the WIP, but now it's totally gorgeous! Ok, maybe not Yoki is the most gorgeous part of it, but I have to admit he seem to have an excellent taste in furniture and interior design.
Also also I love the mug! Never knew there was anyone else who draws them (though I usually put them in Riza's or Mustang's desk)! Yours is a billion times better drawn though.
What's in the newspaper? Yoki has this "not impressed" face I became curious.

I would be soooo happy if you drew him, you don't even know! He is also really fun to draw if you like drawing expressions/ body language.
I realized that if you have to work on a really big, detailed, picture like this you have a lot of time to make up a story behind it and add lots of little extra stuff, like the mug. (I didn't know you had done the same thing, thats so cool. It just seemed like the perfect place for a military symbol because a plain mug would be too boring.) I also put a picture of Fuhrer Bradley in the news paper, which is maybe why he doesn't look impressed, because he's kind of jealous that he's not so famous.
I also added some geode rocks in his bookshelf because I have a personal theory that he actually enjoyed geology and collecting pretty rocks

OK, I never really thought about Yoki much - I mean, he's a neat character and all, but I can't not give you kudos for this piece. You put a TON of work into it and it comes off REALLY well. Excellent work. You deserve a lot of praise for this one.

Oho wow, that's a very awesome fanart of Yoki! Hee hee, I hardly see any fanarts of him so it's very nice seeing someone draw him for a change and this looks really beautiful. The Colors, Details and the backgrounds are just fantastic!

Yeah buy my backgrounds are usually abstract, but yours has intricate details. I mean, look at those floorboards! And thag fancy sofa~ ^w^ All that time spent on it was definitely worth it.

Well I've been trying to force myself to make detailed backgrounds, but they're a huge headache for me. I've learned a lot from this one piece though, and its definitely worth it.

Right. And when it comes to intricate details, you tend to spend A LOT of time working on it. I know, I've done detailed BGs like this before too, so I understand the headaches.

My problem is that I always make one part really detailed, and then realize I have to go and make everything else that detailed so that it doesn't look out of place. D:

Ah, I see. Well, if I could pass on any advice to help with that, it's usually the BG that's got the majority of the detail, so when you make the Foreground (FG), it doesn't have to be as detailed, that way, it gives it more of a contrast. Think about anime shows, the characters and FG objects are less detailed and cell-shaded, compared to the BG, which is typically soft-shaded. (That's just from what I've observed anyway

Thanks for the advice. I think the foreground and things very far away are supposed to be less detailed, and the middle ground where the character is is supposed to be more detailed. I mostly just need practice with perspective, I kind of freehanded the perspective here and it looks a little off in some places.

Especially if there is perspective, and its inside, and there is furniture and stuff.

Yeah that's always how it is... I really should just stop putting it off, that and drawing naked men, it's ridiculous, penises aren't even that hard to draw it's just somewhat intimidating because I always think people are gonna judge me for it. XD
