Okay so this is still not technically done and I am going to be changing a few designs but I got tired of messing with things and figured I should upload some sort of art OTL. I'm just going to copy paste my ramblings I have saved to my computer about the Delphi family and add to it as I go along because I know way too much about these guys to write all at once.

Delphi Family History- While the eldest living members of the family were born in Aerugo, this is not where the Delphi family originated. The first member of the Delphi family line to arrive in Aerugo did not do so until around 1800, before this the family existed in what would be the FMA universe's version of Greece (more specifically, the Aegean Islands). They are a very old and traditional family that has run a rather successful criminal enterprise for a very, very long time.

As power struggles between siblings were not uncommon, every few generations the family expands to a new country. The Delphi family is also very much a matriarchal family- meaning power, money, and property are all passed down through female heirs. Historically, most of the marriages within this family have been arranged to maximize the wealth and influence of the family. As for what being head of the family entails- they are a very business-minded family and nothing if not opportunistic. Its not necessarily ALL illegal, it could be as simple as having a monopoly on a certain part of the market, but they are also willing to pick up on any market that would be lucrative, and for obvious reasons most of these are not exactly endorsed by the government.

They basically run the black market in their respective countries, and each member of the family generally is responsible for a different area of business. They deal with prostitution and information brokering, protection for wealthy families along with mercenaries, and smuggling- anything from stolen artifacts, drugs, weapons, and even humans.

The family symbol is the rose, and traditionally head of family and high-ranking members are branded with the family seal. They are founded on tradition, and loyalty is very highly regarded. What is best for the family always comes first, but for a criminal enterprise they are rather dependable and trustworthy to their patrons and those who work for them.

Calliope Delphi (1834-present)- Calliope and Thalia Delphi are twin sisters born in Aerugo, and the eldest living members of the Delphi family. Calliope, being the younger sister by seven minutes would not be considered for the post of matriarch for the Aerugonian family line. Knowing this, she moved to Amestris when she was 20 with her young son to make her own way. She married twice, and had three children to three different men. (Which means the Delphi siblings are all half siblings, not that it matters since they all have the same mother.) Her first husband was a hot-shot traveling salesman. It goes to say that her first few years in Amestris were financially rocky, but through her husband's contacts she was able to start doing business herself- mostly small stuff, but she eventually outgrew poor husband number one's usefulness. Not that he was a great person, and frankly he was a terrible businessman, but he suffered... tragic accident. Still young, Calliope remarried a refreshingly good (not to mention wealthy) businessman who owned a large chain of banks. He happily supported his wife in all of her ventures, and they lived happily together for many years before he died of natural causes when Calliope was around 50. Since then Calliope has lived to see her enterprise reach maturity, all that it currently lacks is a viable heir.

(Just a reiteration that the question mark isn't there because we don't know her husband, but because all three children have different fathers and I am lazy and didn't feel like designing and drawing them all since they aren't extremely important and they're all dead now anyway)

Thalia Delphi (1834-present)- Despite being chosen over her sister to be the family heir, there is no bad blood between the twins. They write to each other often and help each other out respectively. Thalia is retired at present, but not much else is known about the going-ons of the Aerugonian side of the family.

Lambros Delphi (1852-1890)- Calliope's first child, born when she was 18 and still living in Aerugo. His father is unknown as she never married while in Aerugo, and when he was two years old they moved to Amestris. Things were rocky for a few years but my the time he was six and ready to start school she was able to give him a good education. Lambros, not being a viable option as an heir chose to marry Viola Holbein, the daughter of a wealthy Amestrian family. He disappeared in 1890 along with Sybelle's father and the worst was assumed.

Annabelle Arado (1855-present)- Annabelle was born to Calliope and her first husband not long after she arrived in Amestris. As the first born girl Ann was expected to become family heir, but she rejected her arranged marriage and ran off to be with Liam Arado- a military officer whom she married. She rejected her mother's way of life and opened a small flower shop in East City, choosing to raise her children away from the mafia. Everything was fine until shortly after the birth of her second daughter, when both her husband and older brother Lambros mysteriously disappeared. Eventually she turned to her mother for help, as she was struggling financially and emotionally to raise two children on her own, and couldn't justify watching them starve when she knew the family would take care of them. She still refuses any part of the family business, but is well taken care of by her daughters.

Liam Arado (1853-???)- Ann's husband and father to both Sybelle and Margaret. He was a low ranking military official in East City who mysteriously disappeared in 1890. Drawn young here because I couldn't be bothered to draw him older, and also because this is the age he appears in most photos / his most recognizable age I guess.

Sofia Delphi (1860-present)- The youngest of the Delphi siblings and even more rebellious than her older sister. Left when she was 22 to live with her aunt Thalia in Aerugo. (Again, drawn younger here than she would be currently because this is how most of her family remembers her) Doesn't deal much with the family business as Thalia's heirs have it under control, but she keeps in contact and works as a nurse for the Aerugonian military.

Viola Delphi- I will add more here later, but to summarize- daughter of a very wealthy family, wholeheartedly embraced the Delphi family, though she generally keeps out of their business she would do anything for her sons and nieces. Never re-married.

Alex Delphi (Dodger)- Sybelle's cousin, younger than her by one year, and more similar to her than her own sister. They look very similar, despite Alex being much taller, to the point where he would often be mistaken for her brother. Alex also happens to be much more extroverted than Syb and less cautious in general, but through much of her adolescence he was her partner in crime. I am too tired to write much about him here but honestly he is probably the closest person in this family in regards to Syb. They are extremely close and work well together, they are very intuned to each other (perhaps too close when most people assume that they are either siblings or a couple). He is one of the most important people in her world, even when they are not together. Uhmmmm, he is a mercenary for the family, very good at his job but kind of salty that their grandmother won't consider him as an heir.

Demetri Delphi- If Alex is Sybelle's twin appearance wise, Demetri is her mental twin. He is very reserved and calculated, leading to many spats with his older brother when it comes to family business. He is a recluse by all accounts, and doesn't do much of anything for the family. He lives by himself and studies genetic sciences, working mostly with plants, though he doesn't actually have a job doing this so he makes a living off of fixing bets. (Mostly in horse racing and boxing) Extremely, extremely intelligent, but hates being around most people.

Margaret Arado- Syb's younger sister, and her polar opposite in most ways. This would generally cause conflict, but very early on, with the disappearance of their father Sybelle took up a very protective relationship with her sister. Syb would do anything to take care of her sister, and while they were never particularly close emotionally they care deeply for each other and Margaret understands her sister more than Syb likes to admit.

Sybelle Arado- we already know about her
Oh, also... there are children. They are not on here at the moment though. Margaret has a son by the end of the main FMA timeline, and Sybelle acquires three children around the next few years. More to come on them... at some point... in the future...
