When one thinks of Blaze the Cat, they typically picture a beautiful, reserved and elegant young lady with masterful control over flames, calmly tending to matters of her kingdom and dashing to the rescue of other worlds. Well, like all of us, Blaze was once a child - and it does us well to remember that Plasmagic has a tendency of exaggerating certain parts of oneself when its power is indulged. Summer is essentially Blaze's inner child mixed with her temper, which still bursts out at times despite her best attempts to keep it under control. She's easily distracted, brash and confident, the Blaze that threatened to light up Eggman's fingers and cried at the top of her lungs to "GIVE BACK THE SOL EMERALDS!" while delivering explosive kicks.

Her power, drawing influence from particularly Japanese summer festivities, revolves around the creation and manipulation of explosions akin to fireworks. She can light these explosions from her hands and feet, plus her tail gives off sparks in accordance with her mood. By shaping Plasmagic, Summer Blaze can even create giant Taiko drums and sticks to beat them with! Those heart-pumping techniques are learned from Matsuri, who has plenty of experience with festivals.

Trivia:
- By sheer coincidence, Summer Blaze bears some passing resemblance to Ina, but her design and particularly her colour palette were inspired by the night sky and warm lights such as sparklers or lanterns.

- In early concepts, Summer was going to be Blaze's final form that returned her fire powers, but this was quickly replaced by the idea of fragokinesis and festival drumming attacks.
