Description
Thinking of feeding the birds recently with the bad weather i thought about this little tutorial I started making a while back.I was stuck at home for a few months after tearing ligament and muscle in my leg, I still wanted to shoot and had seen people do similar things to this, nice just to see the birds up close if sited well.
Not an original idea but one worth sharing.
Suet or lard can be used to bind the seed, I prefer suet as it is not so greasy as lard.
^wynnesome points out that small ready made logs can be bought with suet plugs that fit the pre-drilled holes.

wonderful job! I wonder if my mum would mind if I did the same in our balcony...?

You can buy ready made small logs from stores, so I am sure you could try one of them for the balcony, perhaps put a tray uner it to catch all the mess.

No, no, I should stick to the tutorial! I will make wholes in the balcony walls, it should look natural.
I'm just fooling around. I have these balls of seeds on my balcony, but I don't have any birds eating them. :/ And that's really strange, because I can see them on the trees and bushes, but I guess they're too scared to come...

I will. They have a week. Then I'm buying a hamster.

You think the hamster will make good shots on the log?

I'm sure she will and we can use my late grandfather's tools to make the holes too.

Noo not cheating, I only ever do this if stuck at home, as in my Comments I had an injury and was stuck at home for a couple of months, this made sure I had something to do, would not do it in the wild.

It took three months for me to be able to walk with my back pack, I started off slow doing only a mile.
I would say i was all better but i slipped on the ice the other day and came down hard, hurt my knee and bruised my ego big time, I was carrying some shingle to put under the wheels of a truck that was slipping on a slope, felt a right fool doing a somersault in front of everyone

U can do a somersault? Awesome. did the judges give you perfect 10? j/k
At least U didn't hit your head and ... falls can do great damage and those internal bleeding is hard to spot.. so be glade U didn't brake any bone and stuff.
Back to feeding the birds. Just to prove that no way we can stop world hunger.

There unfortunately will always be hunger in the world, no need for it really.

Yep... the more u feed, the less they get motivated to go find their own food.
O well... I already have 2 cats that I feel in my back yard. They kinda like our pet but we don't let them in. They r free to go anywhere they want. Another cat came and I refuse to feed him too. Two is enough for me. I need to train them though. LOL
