Description
I'll probably change the title since it's rather lame.I did this for first round of Zelda Exchange . This is a gift for *Mazoku85 who requested a picture of Link and Ilia riding on Epona, and Ilia has her arms wrapped around Link's waist.
This picture was a real struggle for me. I haven't drawn a horse since I was in fourth grade, and this is the first time trying to draw people on a horse. I tried something different with the cging using texture brushes, but all the details got lost when I reduced the image to a more web-friendly size.
The WIPs for this pic are here: [link]

Absolutely brilliant! I can sympathise with you though - I draw horses all the time, and can never get it right! The people I draw on them always ruin the picture too...

Thanks! I'm all right with drawing horses and people, but combining them always end up being such a huge mess. XD Maybe it'll be better to just draw horses or just people. Haha.

It's the riders legs that are hard for me.

This is seriously, without a doubt, one of the most amazing fanart pics I have ever seen. Your attention to detail is outstanding, the background looks incredibly real, like it would if you were actually observing these two figures walking through the forest, and... yeah, wow.

Thank you very much! I'm very touched by your kind message. I wanted to push myself even more after seeing all the goregous pictures done by other, much more talent people. I'm happy with the result, but there will always be more room for improvements.

Thank you so much! I still got a lot to learn and new areas to explore, and seeing the works by artists old and new has been very inspiring.

Thank you so much for the comment and the fav! I'm glad the horse looked ok in the end (not My Little Pony XD). I think I would have cried if, after putting so much time and effort into it, the horse still not looking like a horse.

Aw, don'cha just hate to resize? I know I do - when I put so much work in to parts and shrink it, you can hardly tell it's there in the first place ahaha
This looks really great though, I love your rendering of the horse! Really welll done, and the whole mood seems really peacefull and sweet~

Oh, totally, I agree with you there about the disappearing details. I guess we can always put close up views of the pic, but it's just not the same.

Oooooooo, pretty...
For someone who hasn't drawn a horse since 4th grade, you sure did a spectacular job!
I like the pic. It's got such a relaxed, friendly atmosphere!

Thank you! I'm all about relaxing atmosphere. Hehehe. I actually want to play more with lights like the way lights filtered through the leaves in the forest, but in the end I gave up because I really had no idea how to draw it. XD

Only saw the pencil version, so seeing it in color now is like whooooooooa. Dig the unsaturated color scheme. The background is nifty too. Really looking forward to the kiriban pic since I know it'll be aweeeesome.

Thanks! I still haven't decided if I like this color scheme but I guess it's worth exploring further.
I hope you don't have super high expectations of the kiriban pic.

Despite this being a struggle I think you pulled it off, I love the horse, in fact I think it's my favorite part. Great composition as well.

Thanks! I'm relieved that the horse turned out ok in the end. I think she still needs to be bigger and wider, but at least she doesn't look like a My Little Pony.
