Description
Previous: Mephiles---
So you guys know that poll I made you guys do a couple of days ago? Well I hope you don't mind but I ended up disregarding the results and doing the least popular of the poll: Void. Sorry guys, haha!
There isn't really all that much to put in the description here as I pretty much laid out the basis for this project in the previous Mephiles image, so read there if you want a bit of context on what's happening here. Basically I've given the character Void from Sonic Shuffle the same treatment under the banner of what I have established for these deities in my Sonic Expanse lore.
But yeah, all mostly straightforward. The Fairy form is obviously based again on Lumina- with Void's design I mostly just inversed features from Lumina's, as these two are two halves of one another. Void in his Titan and Unleashed Titan forms are canon to Sonic Shuffle. The Mobini version Void is a simplification of the Mobian Void design I came up with a little while back:
So next is Mobian Void who I've drawn again the same way, except with a few minor tweaks to the design. The Revenant form as actually really fun to draw, since I'd never actually gotten around to completing the Crystalline Mobian series (both he and Lumina were the last in the series and weren't done). So you guys finally get to see what I had in mind from all that!
Finally the Carrion probably has the most creative license involved, Void's Carrion goes by the name "Night Terror". The design is inspired by the Japanese spirit, the "Baku", which is essentially a dream eating entity. This thing is a good display of how much fun I'll be having with later designs.
All the same, enjoy! I won't bother with a poll or tricking you guys with anything, next one I'm working on is Dark Gaia, so stay tuned~

This confuses me. Does every god in the Sonic world have two aspects?

For the most part, yes! In the case of Illumina and Solaris with their respective fragments, Lumina and Void, and Mephiles and Iblis, they are overtly two halves that make up a singular god. Dark Gaia and Light Gaia are considered separate entities in canon, but I take a couple of liberties in making them two halves of a singular. Argus being the combined nature of Mother Wisp and Black Doom is a lot of liberties taken by me, but it works in the greater scheme of things.

So do all the splinter deitiies have a gem as part of their design?
Also, is there any SD that actually has a prominent role in thier mobian form?
I kindof imagine mobian Void sounding like Beat from JSR only with a slight bug filter applied to his voice.

Good pick up! Yes, the gems are an important aspect of their designs, as they are fragments of the Primordial Deities, who themselves each represent a the personification of a major gemstone (Solaris is the Timestone, Gaia is the Lifestone, Argus is the Powerstone, and Illumina is of course the Precioustone). So along with the Master Emerald and the Chaos Emeralds it runs with the theme of the higher entities being of gemstone origin.
As it is so far, in the main timeline/Expanse-1 canon there isn't any active displays of a Fragment taking on Mobian form (the closest being Chip being a Mobini, Dark Gaia also takes on this form during the events of Lost World in an alternate perspective short). Though there is the later case of JUDGEMENT who is a creation from Black Doom's remains, who after tampering becomes more like his complete non-Carrion Mobian state (although as a disembodied head).Β The most prominent display however is in the Expanse-2 timeline, which is very important in the grander scheme of explaining things which features Mephiles and Iblis taking Mobian form.
Haha, I can actually imagine that too now! That's great. xD

wait, so what will the context of these be in the story?

I suppose I should clarify! Many of these deigns probably don't even appear in any of the stories I have in mind, main universe or alternate, but the basic idea behind doing this is to further iron out the importance of the Fragmented Deities and the Primordial Deities before them, of which they are a driving aspect of the lore I have set in place. My ideas are very biblical in that regard, because I detail the creation of the universe as well as the ethereal workings from behind the scenes.
I've detailed in submissions in the past regarding the Primordial Deities. The Primordial Deities are the four god responsible for crafting the physical universe as they know it, them being Solaris (creator of time and space, originated from Sonic 06), Gaia (creator of the Earth, the resting place for the Chaos Emeralds and the Master Emerald itself, originated from Sonic Unleashed), Argus (creator of the Twilight Cage, protector of the Earth from other planetary threats, originated from Sonic Chronicles), and Illumina (current keeper of the Maginaryworld, overseer of dreams, originated from Sonic Unleashed.
The Fragmented Deities, which I'm slowly detailing in this project are ones I've shown in the past, with Fragments coming as two halves of each Deity. From Solaris we have Mephiles and Iblis, from Gaia we have Light Gaia and Dark Gaia, for the purpose of my canon from Argus we have Black Doom and Mother Wisp, and from Illumina we have Lumina and Void.
Since all the Fragments manifest differently as they appear in canon game stories, I wanted to show each Deity taking on the other forms that each other has, to show there is consistency between the physical nature of each of them.

You said 'Sonic Unleashed' twice, i think you mean Sonic Shuffle.

So most of these are theoretical and don't really have a major spot in your stories? They are super cool nonetheless. I would enjoy that Carrion Void as a boss battle in a game or something. Also, what is the reason that the Primordial Deities splinter?

Cylent-Nite In reply to zaktheyak [2016-05-17 05:19:40 +0000 UTC]
Yeah theoretical for the most part! However some of the forms for show up in later stories (in the main timeline I have Dark Gaia appearing in her Chip-like Mobini form, and Black Doom appearing in his Mobian form, albeit as a disembodied head), but some even appear in the altered timelines I have established. For example Earth-2 focuses on Mephiles and Iblis in their Mobian forms due to an altered set of circumstances. In Earth-3 most of the Splinters have become Carrion, and Earth-4 has a widely different mix of forms. So you will get to see Night Terror in that story! I love imagining these new Titan and Carrion forms as bosses too!
As for why a Primordial splinters, in the games there's only one who is shown to have splintered for a reason, and that is Illumina. She fractured into Lumina and Void due to heavy amounts of self-doubt in herself. So hers is the most gentle splintering.
The other three are detailed in two Sonic Origins stories I have planned out, Solaris splinters in 60 Years Ago (there's a cast line-up and a bit of info in my gallery), and Gaia and Argus both Splinter in Genesis (Argus' splintering is the most violent, resulting in complete physical death and the birth of two Carrion).
