"After about an hour or so, Zoey and I were both exhausted from our impromptu dance session , so we agreed it was probably a good time to wrap things up. And while Zoey went inside to feed Gwen (who had been watching us from a nearby window, meowing at us the whole time), I sat down on the nearby steps I had been hopping up and down earlier to give my leg a well-deserved rest (like I said, dancing on one leg takes a lot out of you...hmmm....you know, i might have to start incorporating some dance moves in my morning exercise routine)."

"Unfortunately, I didn't get to rest for long, as I soon heard a familiar voice coming from behind me. Even though I knew the voice quite well, I still turned around to make sure I wasn't imagining things. And sure enough, when I looked behind me, there was Lauren sitting on a nearby brick wall. Apparently she had gotten back from...wherever she had went...earlier than expected, and when she saw Zoey and I having fun without her, she decided she'd join in the 'fun' as well..."

"Now, Lauren's idea of 'fun' typically involves stealing someone's head, and since Zoey and Heather weren't nearby, that left me as her only target. However, even though I'm usually okay with Lauren 'borrowing' my head, I actually had a few afternoon classes I needed to start getting ready for, meaning I really didn't have the time for it right then. So I apologized to Lauren, promising her that I'd let her have her 'fun' after I got back that evening."

"I could tell from the look on Lauren's face that she wasn't happy with my answer, but I wasn't too worried about it. I mean, the only way she could have stolen my head was to physically grab it and pull it off my body, but she was sitting a good ten feet away from me, and it's not like she was making any kind of move towards me, either. So, I stood up from where I had been sitting and got ready to hop down the steps to where my crutches were laying. And besides, if she did try something, I could always use my telekinetic powers to defend myself."

"Of course, had I been paying more attention, I probably would have noticed the magical energies gathering around Lauren's hand. But it wasn't until I started hopping down the first step that I realized something was wrong....for as my foot made contact with the step I was hopping down to, I felt an odd tingle in my neck....immediately followed by my viewpoint suddenly shifting as my head spontaneously detached from my body. I'll admit, as I was looking up at my headless body, my head now falling to the ground, I was overcome with a mix of shock and surprise (which is why I didn't use my powers to stop my head from falling, in case you were wondering)."

"When my head hit the nearby grassy lawn, I lost focus on keeping my body balanced, causing it to fall forward and land right on top of my head (trust me, it wasn't a pleasant experience). Lauren, having found the whole thing hilarious, hopped down from the brick wall and made her way over to where my head and body were now laying. Reaching under my body, she finally grabbed hold of my head and pulled me out from under myself, triumphantly holding my head out in front of her like I was some kind of trophy."

"After I angrily demanded to know what the hell had just happened, Lauren explained to me that she had spent the morning doing some magic training with Eleanor (for those who don't know, Eleanor - who's also a dullahan - is Lauren's 'mentor,' meaning she's the one that's been teaching Lauren how to use her magic). Apparently Eleanor had just taught her how to remotely detach the head of anyone she's given 'Langwidere's Gift' to, and since I had left her out of the fun earlier, she'd decided to try out her new ability on me (great, so now Lauren doesn't even have to be near us to make our heads come off. I'll have to warn Zoey and Heather about this ASAP)."

"Satisfied that her magic was working as intended, Lauren casually tossed my head towards my body, which was now sitting upright on the lawn (not an easy thing to accomplish, considering the way Lauren was holding me made it nearly impossible to see what I was doing with my body at the time). Unfortunately, her aim wasn't exactly the best, so I had to use my telekinetic powers to catch my head just before it hit the ground (again). After reattaching my head, I started looking around for Lauren, but....well, she had already disappeared. I guess she realized I was gonna use my powers for a bit of payback, so she must have left through one of her portals before I could finish putting myself put back together."

"Knowing that being angry about Lauren's 'fun' wouldn't do me any good, I decided it was best to just get up and go about my day as normal. After I finished getting ready, I started making my way out the front door, passing by Heather as she was returning from soccer practice. I didn't get too far, though, before I heard Zoey and Heather angrily screaming at Lauren. I thought about going back to see what all the commotion was about, but....well, considering what Lauren had just done to me, I had a pretty good idea what had happened. Oh, well...at least I wouldn't have to remember to warn them about Lauren's new trick anymore, you know?"
