Thought I'd upload this progress for anyone interested in seeing my approach. Pretty usual stuff I guess?1) Rough sketch and color (didn't bother with references for items at this point, just getting pose down) I DRAW MESSY
2) roughing out color (figuring out mood and lighting)
3) Base color (define stuff and make things more clear)
4) Polishing up (this is where I usually reference items I don't understand, like the shotgun and holster)
5) Final! :]

I think I like the pissy expression in the original face too... She looked more "I'M GOING TO EAT YOUR ASS FOR BREAKFAST" in the sketch. XD But I DO think the final face is very pretty as well. > u <

Ah just turned out that way, when I paint I sort of get lost in the act of painting and things will usually change proportions or shapes because I'm not paying attention..

mmm not at the moment..I'm actually very embarrassed about posting WIP so I've refrained from posting them..I'm slowly getting more comfortable with the idea so you'll probably see a few more here and there in future posts.

embarrased? Mmm... To tell the truth, I believe that the process of a picture is just as important as the finished product. There's nothing to feel embarrassed about, you're just showing even more awesomeness by showing your wips, in my opinion. Though I'd understand that you wouldn't want to post it so that others don't know your artistic secrets, heh.
If I were you (and for me too, xD) I'd post them, it gives a better understanding of the picture and actually shows a lot more of your effort - people tend to forget how many time or techniques are needed to finish things and only focus on the final painting. There's nothing to feel embarrassed about, it's a praise!
