hey hey! ok, another lighting study, this time with a more familiar character design. I'm trying to test this new technique out and see if I could possibly start applying it to my commissions--that is if you all are interested in it.Soooo, please let me know what you think. do you guys prefer this more realistic style over my regular style, or not?
it is a little bit more time consuming, and at the moment i need to reference photography to get a better understanding of lighting in general. i hope to "learn" it better and get quicker with time

She is gorgeous! However to bad the drow are mostly evil. However most of the drow that turn their backs on the evil ways of their kind happen to be male.

Don't know what your regular style entails, but I love this light-from-behind setting. Or is it lighting-from-above? Anyway, I love the glow on her dark skin and how her hair has a glow to it. And the look in her eye gives the feeling that she knows you're there but couldn't care less, unless you should try something detrimental to your health. Would love to see more of your works in this study.

Love the shading and detailing. Also love how the gold provides a counterpoint to the shadows of her body.

Your "regular style" was great... this is amazing! I love it! I can say that the extra time put in is well worth it! I hope to see more of this style in the future. (plus it'll be nice to see your styles grow!)

I was to say "why don't you continue doing studies, i love those! haha! 
I'm not sure what exactly makes the difference, but in a general way, i think what i like the most with this new style is that they look less like plastic dolls and more like characters that are alive and show a personality, not just posing mindlessly. I have to agree with a previous comment, there is something about the eyes in your latest studies that makes the whole thing looks better. =3
Anyways, I encourage you to go on! I think we can all see a difference.

When I first saw this image as a messagebox thumbnail, I went "oh crap she's gone down the porn route."
Upon closer inspection, I'm glad you didn't, only that her garments are small and blend.
Anyway, I am thoroughly impressed, and I think this is a definite improvement on your work, though I certainly love your style, I think this is the direction you need to be moving. I would love to see more of your work done in this style.

I like both of your styles - my only preference to the realistic style is the way you do the eyes. I think they fit better with the rest of your style, be it the realistic OR the regular.
