the glows are actually very well apllied; its the texture and clash of colors within the texture (glow too?) that i dont like

I think its the texture that needs reworking - the large blue circle parts on the left and right. I've tried to make a planet out of those exact textures before and the circular parts just throw off the depth of the texturing.

Yeah, I even tried filling the holes with another texture, it's tough to get it to blend though
