Sunburst is literally the cutest pony ever. no one can convince me otherwise. i mean, c'mon, didja even LOOK at the adorable bastard??
anyway, I wanted to draw him because...well, I just did. he's by far one of my favorite ponies to work with.
usually, when I draw him, I draw him in a shy pose. he spends a lot of time alone, and is probably easily flustered and socially awkward. whole-body blush suits him a lot XD.
his mane is also epic. I love drawing messy curls, which is what I usually draw his mane as.
I made him a short, smol chonkster. again, he spends a lot of time indoors. I'd imagine that, much like Rarity, he's a big sucker for comfort food, and can probably be found eating throughout the day as he reads. so he's packed on a few pounds, but not too much. just a smol chonk (his boyfriend, Sombra on the other hand...)
he also has big, beautiful blue eyes. I dunno about ya'll but I love orange-blue combinations, and his is just epic. inspired by Lopoddity's design for him (totally epic, you should check it out: www.deviantart.com/lopoddity/a…), I gave him blue hooves and longer fetlocks. I also gave him pale cream speckles on his back and his neck, just as another design element. I like to make him a smol, chonky leetle floofer, so the longer fetlocks totally suit him imo.
I don't usually draw him with his cape. I mean, why would you want to cover him up???? look at how cute he is *fangirl squee*!!! but the cape is lovely, i must admit. really nails down the 'nerdy wannabe-wizard' aspect of his character.
I also love those white legs. I think he might be one of the few characters to have a design like that, other than maybe Troubleshoes. it makes Sunburst really stick out in my mind, because it's a unique design that not a lot of canon characters have.
overall, very adorable pone, 100/10, would definitely draw again.
