looks very depressing. unless its absolutely necessary segregation is not in use in europe unless very strict rules are applied for its use, which is rare. its considered very damaging.

pics remind you of prisons and how many people are inside even now - of all colours especially in the us. the most overincarcerated place in the world.

3 years ago i was sentenced to 18 months in a womans penetentiary (i will leave the name of that facility nameless for privacy sake. My entire experience can be read in my profile) while these arts are amazing i get flashbacks seeing some of these artworks. Granted i never once had to wear chains or shackkes, and i was extremely co operative with the guards, i ended up being a barefoot inmate (that wasnt planned that way...). I will say untill you live this in real life its not the same. My first 3 months in segregation were the worsttttt. So humiliating as i had to wear a disposable paper gown as a "precautionary" measure.

i m definitely not a friend of the us system - what can one expect of a country which has a miserable human rights record and has started wars all over the middle east, causing refugees to flood europe. thats the first thing, we have of course, meantime got information on a happhazard health system you cant rely on - there will be enough people with serious conditions who are not covered. its pure neglect and against the law in europe,Β Β where everyone nearly is insured or has access to necessary care. therefore a happhazard so called justice system is not one we want any contact with, which is why there are no visits planned to the us,Β Β for most people i know.Β it seems to be madmax come alive. unbelievable.

Β Β i suppose if u are in chains for any length of time, disciplinary etc. you get to know yourself and your limits better, but i also found out that i got more quiet and more forthcoming after some chaintime but not everyone is the same. i found i would be more snuggly whne i get in contact with other dudes etc - especially those who have control over me.Β

I was very surprised u were in seg. at all, unless you are a top russian spy, which i doubt very much !! sometimes we got put on chains when being walked around or leaving for court etc. sometimes one person would transport 5 guys and boys who were cuffed and on one chain or leather strap which is lighter so that more people could be moved, which you get used to. also the dudes become fairly good friends and sometimes they even get quite close. its an odd community but everyone has to do their best to survive some are inside for longer e g years or only a short time of 6 months. etc unless there is a really serious reason seg. is not used because it is damaging and therefore against the law and is seldom used unless there is danger to other persons etc.

OF COURSE I M VERY IMPRESSED ANDE SURPRISED THERE WAS ANY TYPE OF SEGREGATION
ALOS, ANYONE TREATED BADLY WILL NOT DO WELL. LATER ONΒ unless there are very serious reasons there is no segregation allowed for any longer periods in europe unless there is actual compelling danger for those around.Β also i m not yet in the picture why you were inside at all even if only a shorter time.

Yes, I'm very familiar with the very real horrors of the prison industrial complex.Β Much of the inspiration for my images comes not from my twisted fantasies but are simply exaggerated renderings of events that really have occurred in jails and prisons around the world, in the present and not too distant past.
