I made this: [link] a while ago having only watched a few episodes of Glee. A lot of people I know are really into it so I decided to give the show another shot. What is this I don't even? I tried and tried to like it but just can't find the appeal in sitting trough 35 minutes of unfunny quibbles only to sit throughout 10 more minutes of songs that originally were't that great, now sung in an even more boring fashion. However, I have learned one valuable thing from watching shows like Glee, High School Musical, and American Idol... If I ever want to make a successful series I know exactly what to call it: "Attractive Young People (That Can Kinda Sing) Sing and Dance and Do Other Stuff Too!"Related content

I haven't seen "GLEE" much, I saw one episode and it felt like watching one of those educational videos they force children to see in certain schools.

For me I just didn't find a single character likable or even relatable. Except for maybe the bitchy old cheer coach. But she's everybody favorite I think...

Some of the songs they cover don't go so well. For example, I don't like their Journey cover and I'm not a big fan of their Rocky Horror cover, but other people do (and I find them to be weird people BECAUSE they like them).

Haha, omg so true... I started watching because I'm a Darren Criss fangirl of sorts (Well... Starkid) and it's so cheesey and OTT but I love it because it's fun to laugh at. The fan base terrifies me though, holy crap...

Well, Starkid is a drama droup that have recorded a few of their origional productions and put them on the web. They're very popular with Harry Potter fans as they did a couple of parodies called 'A Very Potter Musical/Sequeal'. (They do other plays such as 'Me and my Dick' though) They guy who plays Harry Potter in AVPM/AVPS landed a spot in Glee, and his already large fan following exploded, as did the viewers of Glee. xD

Oh, then I definatley reccomend it!
It's quite long and split into parts as it's on Youtube, but it's definatley worth it if you're a Harry Potter fan. Lot's of inside jokes, and it's a whole different spin on the characters. ^^ It's also very quotable.

Agreed with everything...except the part about musicals. I still love those. Soap operas and American Idol are getting really old, though.

It's strange I've only seen one musical in my life that I didn't like. Makes me wonder why I like shows like "Legally Blonde the Musical" and can't sit through Glee.

I haven't much cared for American Idol since the first couple seasons (except for season 8... I am a shameless Glambert) but I gotta admit Steven Tyler has made this season hella entertaining.

Well, I used to be into Season 1 obsessively. Still like Season 1, but I just find them so annoying in Season 2. (Plus, kind of pissed about how they RUINED The Rocky Horror Show. WORST. EPISODE. EVER.) If I do watch any, it is purely for Sue Sylvester. She rocks!

didn't get nearly that far, but you don't have to get past the pilot to know Sue is the talent. btw what happened to the cheerleader hiding her pregnancy

Cheerleader hiding pregnancy? Long story, Quinn got busted for lying about the father. Real father(Puck) and the guy she liked(Finn)/pretended was the father got into a fistfight on the big day of their finals performance, but Will talked Finn into forgiving his buddy, Finn showed up at the last minute... They wowed the crowd and came away with third place.
Uh, I think that's what happened. Don't really remember.
Oh, and before the results were announced, Quinn's water broke, she rushed into hospital, gave birth to a healthy baby boy, who was immediately adopted by Rachel's real mother. Complicated shit. But still entertaining, at that time.

So everyone knew she was pregnant then? Last thing I saw there was going to be some secret switchero between Quinn and Schuester's wife? Maybe I'm remembering that wrong... but I couldn't fathom how someone could hide a full term pregnancy so another woman could secretly adopt the baby.

Yes, everyone knew. And Schuester's wife got busted when Will found the pregnancy pad in her drawers and they got a divorce. Then Emma hooked up with a dentist, and I sort of stopped watching.

Hmm... Not really. It's partly the reason I don't follow all that many TV series. Prefer watching movies, at least I always get my satisfying conclusion at the end of two hours. GUARANTEED.
I always get bored with the extended drag-out of any situation. For gods' sakes, people, GET OVER IT AND MOVE ON WITH YOUR LIFE ALREADY! (Plus, TV high schools are always filled with "vampires". How else do you explain 30 year olds who're still in high school?! Oh well. Sue Sylvester was the best thing about it, anyway.)
