Woot! Color version of Mateus Palamecia in his Dark Emperor of Hell form! I think I did an even better job coloring him than I did with Chaos! (but Chaos's background is still WAY better)Allow me to talk about the Dark Emperor for a minute. Mateus made a pact with Satan that gave him magical powers and the ability to raise an undead army to do his bidding. With it, he started to take over the world, and almost succeeded, but he was killed by the heroes.
AND THEEEEN...
Mateus KILLED Satan, usurped his throne, and TOOK OVER HELL!!! Take that, Kefka!!
Mateus was also the first villain to wipe out a kingdom by poisoning water, something KEFKA gets all the credit for.
Don't get me wrong, I still love Kefka.

Emperor is by far the greatest Final Fantasy villain in History. I wish this form was in Dissidia but I still like his Hell Emperor form in his ex mode. Haha awesome job!

I loved the song that plays when you fight him. It's kinda sad the blood swords can cut through his HP like a hot knife through butter.

You do have a very good point that the Emperor here did just as much nasty stuff as Kefka. Killing almost every Dragoon, disguising a Lamia (I think) to mess with Firion's head (Probably messed up the name) and then dying... and taking over hell. (AND heaven!)
Though I will admit that it was a limitation of the game size and lack of dialouge, the catch is that Kefka did it with style! Plus, the Emperor here started with everything, and went up. Kefka started as a fairly goofy assistant to who you thought was the big boss, and worked his way up to being the Big Cheese.
Again, not to say that Palamecia here isn't cool, but Kefka just has that quality to him that stands out more. Plus, clowns are scary.
As to the art, fine work, fine work! I always love seeing lesser known VG character fanart! And, unless I'm mistaken, this seems to have been coloured by hand rather than Photoshop or all those other fun toys. Not that those don't require skill, but I've always enjoyed old-fashioned work.

Yeah, all of my non-half-assed work is done completely by hand. The only reason I color my webcomic with the computer is to speed things up, since I like to update it weekly.

Amazing job! He looks way better in the PSP version........in the GBA version he's just plain wierd.......I never reached him though........mainly because of the annoying way of leveling up

Levelling is easy if you know exactly what tasks you want each party member to take before you even start the game. The best strategy is to just fight strong monsters over and over, using only the abilities you really want/need. Most of the spells and weapons in the game are pointless. The only spells you need are Cure, Life, Esuna, and SWAP. And the only good weapons are swords, spears, and bows.
About Swap. If you teach Swap to every party member and have them each use Swap on a Goblin, everyone in your party will be reduced to 6 HP and 0 MP, and just about every one of your stats will be raised!

Blizzard is useful for bosses like Adamantoise and Red Soul, but those are early bosses and you won't really need the spells beyond them. Get it to level 6, and it should handle any situation that requires magic.

Mateus was the hardest final boss I ever battled.He is getting my credits for that.it took me twice to battle him and win (which every I time I fight a final boss on my first try I always win but Mateus was a special case)
He has my respect even though...

I don't suppose you ever tried fighting him with Blood Swords? Doing so makes him the easiest final boss in the series.

Holyshit and I thought Kefka was the best LMAO. Palamecia just pawns over all the other FF villains. XD I love the coloring and detail on this! I never played this FF but I'd want to for a boss like THAT.
