Description
This is an acrylic. It's only 5 X 7 inches. I wish I'd done it a little bigger but there's no giant demand for these kinds of images on big canvases amoungst most of the folks I know. Perhaps a demand for the activity depicted, but certainly no desire to advertise it on our living room walls for the love of Pete!!!
It was very fun to do, or perhaps I should say it's fun to have it done. Feet, like hands, can be really difficult to draw, and then even harder to interpret from your drawing and paint in color. I'm really happy with how this little work turned out. I used transparent skin tones and built them up rather than working in solid fields and developing shading and highlights up and down from there. I usually do this with skin tones cause highlights applied to skin always look blue and cold to me. This way the whiteness of the illustration board can be employed in the highlights of the skin. It's way more work but what the hell. The work of us perfectionists is never done. If I finished the painting, I'd only end up straightening the silverware in the drawers or something equally as important.
