Description
This is an older acrylic painting that I've had trouble coming up with a good image of. The original is long gone and I've been having some trouble putting my finger on some old slides I'd taken of some things. If I remember it's about 10 X 12 inches and there's also some coloured pencil and chalk or pastels on it.I used a shot from Elle Magazine some years back, of Christy Turlington for reference, attempting to make her look more Macedonian and less scrupulous. Apologies and thanks, to her.

This is a great representation of her, sexual but still powerful. The skin tone is simply wonderful! I can seeTurlington in her but yes, she does look macedonian too

I love it! It's a bit different from what I'm used to seeing, but it's great to see something from you. The eye is very vibrant, and I love the skin-tones. The colour of the cloth goes very well with it, really soothing, rather. Awesome awesome-

Cleopatra is one of my favorite people. I love how you made the stuff under her eyes white, instead of black. Gives it a bit more...oomph.

Thanks for the (as usual) wise words. I'm happy you like that. I thought it'd be kinda fresh to get away from the black eye stuff also. I have an even older darker Cleopatra painting I'm digging through boxes to find some photo of to post. It's a wild one cause a Jesuit friend of mine convinced me (temporarily) that she would've been very overweight, as were the wealthy and regal in those days. I hope I can find it cause it's sort of cool. The girlfriend I used as a model back then wasn't too keen on the 'over-weighting' of her. Anything for art's sake, right? How's summer How? Oh yes, i have heard that theory. Somehow I doubt she'd be grossly overweight but she wouldn't be all skin and bones. She'd have some healthy curves because of being royal and stuff. Can't wait to see it. Just got back from a five week vacation in Mexico. Woooo.

I'll try to find it, scan it, post it soon Missus. I saw it during my move so I know it's about somewhere. I agree she wouldn't be really over weight just well fed.

I've been reading a book called 'American Gods' by Neil Gaiman and there are a lot of descriptions of America and all. And I've never wanted so much to go there, so i'm boiling here
