umm an abandoned piece of alian weaponry smacks into the earth obiliterating it, but its also a kind bomb as the final flash of light that was the earth is made sentinent by the bomb, so although the earth is destroyed everyone is alive as energy within that final flash of light, after a year in simulated earth time but millenia in the real universe the light reaches the edge of the universe and only those who were yet unborn could venture into the nothingness that is beyond the edge of the universe
