They were a sect of the main religion of the S.H.E.B that existed long ago during the 6th dynasty of the empire, they were trusted for they could predict the outcome of any battle and foresee the future. However one day they were all branded as heretics and brutally killed, for what reason is a mystery but some say it was because of a prophecy that came to them, when they divulged this prediction to the ruling King Apostle at the time he was deeply incensed by the future they foresaw and in a fit of anger he ordered the entire sect to be executed. The visions the King Apostle found most upsetting supposedly predicted the end of the Belfry empire.

Today the sages returned as vengeful wraiths that haunt their former temple that was left to crumble away. Many of them are restless and angry attacking all who approach and enter the temple. Only a few of the sages spirits still continue their old practices even in death. The wraiths like most ghosts are incorporeal thus magic can harm them but they are anchored to the world by their staffs, thus their staff is their physical weakness, destroy the staff and the wraith is destroyed.

Known Miracles:

Grand Faithful Spear- Hurls a greater black and golden spear, being much more powerful it can outright penetrate all armors. The faith required for this one is even greater and those who can conjure this power are respected for they have a faith that is not easy to achieve.

Grand Enrapture- Deals greater damage and has a wider AoE.

Baneful Blessing- Caster prays to conjure a damaging AoE around a target. This spell is among the “dark miracles” albeit the lesser of them but still as dangerous as a lurking and prowling evil spirit. Coincidentally this miracle does more damage to non-humans.

Oath of the Bell- A miracle that greatly reduces damage taken and increases the casters attack power.

Necromancy- The Sages had a large battalion of knights to protect the sages but like the sages they too were branded heretical and put to death with the sages they protected. The sages today can employ necromancy to reanimate their bodies to fight for them again.
