I finished this image, but never added the thumbnail to the description, because I reached the limit.

Mostly was basing the red camouflage off of western soviet camo patterns, not really a Deadpool reference. In the end, I changed the color scheme to match the scene a bit.

The brown pants joke is older than dirt. Never watched Deadpool yet.

I find this camo pattern strikingly similar to what Russkie wore in Modern Warfare 2; the similar pattern is used by mercs in Black Ops 2. The Call of Duty franchise mostly associates it with "bad guys".

Time permitting, I am open for comissions, in between working on my own projects. Shoot me a message on dA notes with the details.

It's a shame no actual military ever takes on a cool RED camouflage pattern. It's not like people don't know the fucking ARMY is around. XD

Well, I suppose Bison's army in Street Fighter The Movie rocked it, but that's not good enough for me. I need to see like... the Swiss running around in them. 👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Daemoria In reply to RemnantComic [2016-06-18 21:04:31 +0000 UTC]

Actually there are many real world examples of using red in camouflage. The germans, swiss, and soviets all had patterns that involved some crazy colors.

I dunno how effective it actually was, but this is really more of a visual aesthetic choice than anything else. I am fondly calling this 'anti-cammo'.

The red camo is probably not the most efficient in that environment but it is pretty awesome nonetheless.  I would steal it but I will probably die XD

Thanks. The 'high tech' screen is there to highlight the oddity of the location. Glad you like it, I spent a bit of time on it to get the test signal looking good.

Do... do we need to visit his gallery three times? I mean, will it be different each time?
                      ...It might be...

Really fun work! I'm just glad they don't expect me to join them.

Anything that you would call an "anomaly" I would call a "horrible-non-euclidean-murder-space"
... but I say it with much love.

Daemoria In reply to DBrentOGara [2016-06-17 06:21:31 +0000 UTC]

I'm sure it's just an anomalously high concentration old episodes of The Twilight Zone on betamax. Nothing to worry about.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DBrentOGara In reply to Daemoria [2016-06-17 16:11:07 +0000 UTC]

Mmm... yes, the Betamax anomaly... know for it's higher quality and clunky-form-factor. Remained in use long after it's highly-publicized commercial defeat because TV studios needed something better than VHS to record their own video on for later playback.

Ironically, VHS and Betamax both succumbed to Digital at about the same time.

Now, the inclusion of The Twilight Zone is an interesting addition... it's an anomaly about anomalies made up of anomalies... almost Zen... or Inception.

Hoorah! Awesome adoptable (or not!) characters done by an awesome artist!

Gav and Val look great in your style, and I very much hope this is a sign of things to come.

Daemoria In reply to fxboxing-fan [2016-06-16 02:33:06 +0000 UTC]

teh hell are adoptables.

Perhaps. It's got a bit of backstory behind it, but for now it's just a one-off image.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

fxboxing-fan In reply to Daemoria [2016-06-16 06:07:50 +0000 UTC]

Characters that an artist makes, and then puts up for 'adoption' for others to 'claim ownership' of. I think that's how it works. lol

Well it's a very snazzy one-off if that's all it will ever be.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Daemoria In reply to fxboxing-fan [2016-06-16 14:10:31 +0000 UTC]

The whole concept never made any sense. "I drew this character, pay me money so you can 'adopt' it!". I guess I'm not 'hip' enough to understand kids these days.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

fxboxing-fan In reply to Daemoria [2016-06-16 22:09:47 +0000 UTC]

I see them as shots in the dark or the artist wasn't pleased with how it came out, and decided to try to make a little scratch by selling the 'look' of the character to someone else. No need to be hip... we can just yell at the kids to get off the lawn. xD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Daemoria In reply to fxboxing-fan [2016-06-16 22:13:18 +0000 UTC]

Nah, no need to spoil the surprise by yelling at them. The bouncing betties and claymores will do the trick just fine.

Daemoria In reply to Zarmarza [2016-06-16 19:46:32 +0000 UTC]

This image is some time after the Soviets have encountered the Laughing Swarm. Consider this group (technically under the jurisdiction of the GRU) a Soviet MIB.

Sometimes, the gunfight is going to be distinctly not in your favor, in that you can't shoot what you can't see or whatever anomalous entity you're targeting simply isn't effected by your bullets. It's times like those that you will have to rely on a blade to keep the 'things' away.

Daemoria In reply to Niribur [2016-06-15 21:14:34 +0000 UTC]

Most camouflage schemes are available as tileable textures on the internet. It's then just a matter of applying the texture to the area where it's needed.
