Description
Pulse rounds zipped through the forest, cutting through the tree wood. Silencers on some of the soldiers weaponry helped to keep a concealed position at the start, but when the lesser equipped of the platoons began to open fire, their position was given away. Now it was just a matter of not getting shot by the surpressing fire of the enemy landing force.

"dammit!" The squad leader cursed before switching on his comms "If we stay here any longer, there's gonna be another dropship coming in to reinforce their position, we cannot stay put!" he said, his voice coming through the mics clearly as the helmets deafened the cracking of gunfire down to a minimum. "Squads one and three are to pull back, two and four to cover their retreat. we're not staying here any longer than we need to!" he commanded as rounds from an enemy LMG tore through the wood of the tree he pressed up against.

One of the rounds impacting in one of the men that was in the process of dragging away a wounded friendly, his body being sent to the ground as he writhed around clutching his chestplate. "I'm hit! Fuck!"

Successes in assaults were being called up down the line. Stealth operators followed by platoons of skirmishers were attacking Landing parties across the area. Some of the landing units however, put up more of a fight than anticipated. Despite the other successful raids, the platoons were meant as a quick skirmishing party, not as full blown assault groups. Spread thin, and with casualties beginning to mount at the raids, the Platoon leadership would call a tactical withdrawal, to regroup with friendly units, and return.
