I don't know. D: I'm sure you can make clipping masks of PS elements, I just don't know how. Try google. :3

Haha I have many times to no avail. Oh well...

Oh and you probably get asked this a lot but... is there a trick to drawing as realistic and well as you do? Because I can draw pretty good traditional stuff (If i do say so myself ) but when it comes to digital I can never make it look good :/

Daesiy In reply to tigerswimmerLM [2011-01-15 04:03:57 +0000 UTC]

Well, it's really just about referencing from phtotos and learning the anatomy. I sketch in a realistic way, then line and shade like I would to a cartoon.

Curse me for being so deaf! D; You lost me at the multiply layer thing...

So you do the shading layer... cut out the lighted areas... multiply the shaded...

Eh... whut.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

Daesiy In reply to skinwalker3 [2010-07-10 02:37:59 +0000 UTC]

It should work on most programs with layers. :3

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

skinwalker3 In reply to Daesiy [2010-07-10 03:05:44 +0000 UTC]

Gimp does have layers, but unlike PS, it cannot display each layer on a tab on the side, so it's difficult to know what you're doing. And once you finish one layer, it's impossible to go back to a previous one..

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Daesiy In reply to skinwalker3 [2010-07-10 04:53:14 +0000 UTC]

Sure it has layer tabs. Just press "command" and "L" at the same time. :3 (I used gimp for a loooong time)

You can basically do the same thing with something like PainToolSai or even MSPaint if you want to get creative

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

skinwalker3 In reply to i-Moosker [2010-07-09 18:57:40 +0000 UTC]

I can't have MSPaint on my computer, nor can I afford PTS. However, the tutorial helped me learn me learn how to use the lasso and gradient fills.. So that's a start C:
