-I shall take him!!MEMORABLE KOGAN.
I was re-reading ch.33 of Shigurui manga and I HAD TO draw this scene.
It made me love the old man with all my heart ;_; <3
So, a cute Kogan/Gennosuke moment. --And I know, Kogan's hat is drawn wrongly-- B-But I wanted to show his eyes ;_; !!

I really love this pic. Great drawing, great color -- everything.
I suppose Kogan wasn't all that bad. I mean, even though he DID molest his daughter, abuse his concubine, maim Ushimata, kill his loyal bodyguards, slice up a nest of baby birds, and simply sneer in disgust when his wife hung herself... I guess he can be all right sometimes. Nobody's perfect.
I was touched by this moment as well, but the rest of Gennosuke's past... disturbed me.
But hey - that's what Shigurui does.

Ahah, well, I guess that Kogan was-- not exactly "bad", more "strict and utilitaristic": many men were like that at the time.
So, also if he just saved Gennokuse because he wanted to raise himself a proper heir, he definitely did good to the boy and they surely shared a deep and special relationship... Seeing Gen's reation to Kogan's death and how he cried while thinking of him was truly touching. --I mean, expecially since they were both two crazy guys XD
