I'm trying to do a series of similar paintings for the crew. Tried this several times with other series, but always got distracted before I got anywhere. So new day, new luck ...#01: Michael Burnham and Ripp
I liked the comment from showrunner Aaron Harberts, that the tardigrade somehow mirrors Burnham's personal voyage.

I can put him on my neverending list - but I can't say when I will paint him. I'm a complete passion painter, so whenever something steals my heart I bury myself into it until the attack is over. And at the moment "Discovery" has stolen my heart.

Ich muss gestehen, ich mag die Locken. Sind zum Zeichnen nicht gerade so prickelnd, aber ich mag sie an Burnham. Ich frage mich nur jedesmal, ob sie da eine Perücke trägt, oder ob man ihre langen Haare irgendwie so geschickt frisieren kann, dass sie wie kurze aussehen (ja, das sind dann so die Punkte, die mich von der Handlung ablenken ... GRINS)

It's not clear what will become of it. There could be an ethical dilemma with Burnham on one side and Captain Lorca on the other.

Schöne Arbeit an dem Bärtierchen (Ripp?). Vor allem die fluoreszierenden Effekte an Maul und Haut sind wieder richtig beeindruckend. Toll gemacht!

So happy you like it! For Ripp I tried several different airbrush brushes till it looked at least a bit like I was aiming for. I hope we'll have some better references in future episodes ... and I dearly hope it (he, she ...?) will survive. My boys love the tardigrade, and I fear they'll stop watching the episodes with me when something happens to it.
