***Absolute - a divine spark of inspiration
Absolute - beyond human control
Absolute - complete, infinite and unconditional
Embraced by Ars, the Artist turns into stone and becomes Ars himself, melting with Her into Unity. Or, maybe, Her touch brings the petrified Artist to life, since he cannot achieve full humanity without Her blessing.
Ars, subtle as She is, has a power over the artist, who is helpless and dependant, although rewarded with a laurel wreath. In his suffering he knows that the golden crown is a burden. As much as he would like to break free, he is not able to escape from this slavery. Alone, he cannot exist, so his soul is riven between pain and happiness, protest and devotion. Only united with Ars he can come to the complete and perfect entity - Absolute.

i love the way they seem to flow into each other, although they don't appear to be as one. it's incredible how you have created such an intense feeling throughout this piece, while maintaining the subtleties needed to get the message across. may i just ask, who is Ars?

you know... your art is somehow similar to greek mythology's Pygmalion and Galatea...well not really, like Pygmalion (in which i will call pyg) is a sculptor who made this beautiful statue of this beautiful woman whom he fell in love with, and then he kept praying to Aphordite for a possiblity that it may be animate and the goddess answered his prayer, then viola there it is, shes alive and married to the pyg

I LOVE this. Mostly because I actually got the premise of the painting before I read the description. "Hmm...feet are stone...she's bringing a statue to life!" I don't usually...get...paintings that are that specific, unless they're explained to me first. I think the fact that it doesn't need explaining says something great about your skill.

beautiful, it's like the balance between the masculine and feminine; divided they don't work fully, together they're absolute and invincible.
almost perfect, i like the greek look of him and the stone-turning. her nail is a little bit too shiny to make sense but it doesn't really distract from anything. bah, i'm speechless.
