***Absolute - a divine spark of inspiration
Absolute - beyond human control
Absolute - complete, infinite and unconditional
Embraced by Ars, the Artist turns into stone and becomes Ars himself, melting with Her into Unity. Or, maybe, Her touch brings the petrified Artist to life, since he cannot achieve full humanity without Her blessing.
Ars, subtle as She is, has a power over the artist, who is helpless and dependant, although rewarded with a laurel wreath. In his suffering he knows that the golden crown is a burden. As much as he would like to break free, he is not able to escape from this slavery. Alone, he cannot exist, so his soul is riven between pain and happiness, protest and devotion. Only united with Ars he can come to the complete and perfect entity - Absolute.

pygmalion and his bride..* something that might interest you..it's a greek/roman/(not sure which!) myth we looked at in class..the story's similar to this piece of work! x x

I love this picture and i love all of your art i have been looking at your art since you were doing anime.. i think this one is your best yet the concept and idea is wonderful! one bit of critizism is that i think you should add more color variations or more shadows to the skin tones to livin' it up a bit ....i cant really put my finger on it but something is missing there

Absolutely gorgeous.
It reminds me, your little story, of the Stone Prince (or it was something along those lines, anyway) from the Tales of the Arabian Nights where this prince is half living man and the rest of him is stone because he messed with some sorceress and ... yeah, well, just reminded me of it. ^^ -goes off to read the book again x3-

I am convinced that you wanted one of them to represent your Being. I wonder which one? Their extatic faces and their warm embrace, but with a clear lack of reciprocity (she is holding him, and he lets himself loose) feels like there is a strong, intimate bond between you and your work... I am impressed.

I KNEW IT!
I had seen this picture before! When I was in that store in the poster section I didn't know where I knew it from, but soon it dawned on me that it had be from dA. This is the second time that dA is actually affecting my day to day life. And I am getting more and more amazed at how vast it really is. It seems to influence art all over the world and it and it's arists are actually affecting the world! I find that so amazing!
Sorry for that little excourse, but I was just too excited to find this wonderful piece of art here on dA again, where I have originally found it and was enchanted by it. There is so much depth and so much truth in this. And the symbolism is just overwhelming!
We are all art's slave, we who call ourselves artists. But art also brings us our happiness and fullfillment and enriches our life. Personally I would rather live my life in Ars' slavery than never to have known her at all...

I rarely find art that keeps my interest for a prolonged period of time. Your use of texture, light and shadow, and rock solidarity versus the flowing lines of inspiration is breathtaking. The morphing from rock to human figure is excellently done. All I have is praise for this piece. excellently done.
