I'm happy to hear you like the colours. However, I have to disagree on the name.

First of all, there is no censorship. The change of the name was self-imposed by Hasbro. They own the character, they can decide whatever her name is. Furthermore they have in no way tried to stop, outside of licensed merchandise, the use of the name Derpy by anyone else.

Second, Hasbro's motivation was not necessarily ill-intentioned. They reacted to some viewers feeling (afaik genuinely) insulted by the name. If anything that sounds like a nice thing to do. The fact that it may not have been the best solution, and the subsequent internet backlash were unfortunate, but no reason to still get hung up on the name change.

Third: how is Muffins a bad nickname for the character? As far as nicknames go, we have plenty for other characters in the show as well, not limited to a single one per character either. Of the many that you could think of for Derpy, Muffins sounds to me like one of the most appropriate. I don't see how it would rob her of the name Derpy, which will obviously remain predominant.

And finally, if it's any consolation, I don't intend to use Muffins as a permanent or exclusive way to refer to the character. It's in no way practical with Derpy being by far the most accepted and understood name. That doesn't stop me from using it here as a nod to the 100th episode though, since that's pretty much all it is.

I won't try to change how you think about it that she was referred to as "Muffins" in the credits.

My only goal is to talk to people about that when I see them calling her with that censorship name (and, just as a side note here, the reason for censorships or who does the censorship does not matter for the definition, it is still censorship either way, in this case her name was censored to appease a small group of people who were not insulted by Derpy's name, but simply very hateful and intolerant towards a disabled, clumsy mare and wanted to have her altered because of that) and to do what is in my power to ensure that they won't start calling her "Muffins" now, to save Derpy's real name and to prevent those haters from three years ago to achieve a partial victory by having taken care of that Derpy's name was altered.

I don't feel like discussing this much further. For one because I assume that the people involved with the name affair had good intentions, since I've seen no unequivocal evidence that they didn't. As such it feels wrong to take offence to anyone's actions. I will accept that Muffins is now probably the most official name for Derpy, even though most people, including me, will hardly ever use it. I just don't get why one would still get worked up over Derpygate.
