DescriptionThis application allows all users (not just AnotherContestGroup moderators) to submit contests to the Contest Directory , the AnotherContestGroup Upcoming Contests journal, and the Message Center Contest Widget simultaneously. This form can also be used to edit the details (such as deadlines) of contests that have already been submitted. This application is hosted offsite through the deviantART OAuth 2.0 API

Click the "Download Application" button
You will be taken to a page "Authorize this app to connect to your account?"
Select the checkbox "I understand that Submit Contest v0.4 will now act in the manner described above."
The page says "Access, use and manage your Sta.sh" but this application does not use this privilege at all. Currently, applications are forced to request all available privileges even if they are not used. In the future the staff will allow applications to restrict which privileges are enabled [details]
Click "Authorize App"
You will be taken to a page where you can submit a contest. Once your contest is approved by an AnotherContestGroup moderator, it will appear in the Contest Directory
At any time you may delete the App from your account by accessing your Settings [here] and clicking the "Revoke Access" button

Question: Can you extend the deadline for my contest?
Answer: To extend the deadline for your contest, open the Submission Form and follow the instructions. When you are prompted to enter your journal URL, enter the URL of your contest journal and click "Continue". The next page will list the details of your contest. Update the deadline and then click "Submit" to save your changes
The end date of my contest is 1 day later than it should be
The app doesn't know the time zone of the contest host so it assumes PST. However, deadlines are converted to local time in the app. The physical location of a user can cause discrepancies in the deadline when searching for contests
Question: How soon will i know if it was approved?
Answer: A moderator from AnotherContestGroup will leave a comment on your contest journal once your contest is approved to let you know your contest now appears in the search results.
Question: The app is down.
Answer: The app is hosted at X10Hosting and there may be periods of down time caused by DDoS attacks, server migrations or similar. I apologize, but these temporary issues are outside my control. Sometimes the hosting provider will announce these issues in the [status] section of their page or users will report the problem in the [forums]

I downloaded and authorized the application, but both Firefox and Chrome give me errors when going past that.
Firefox says: "The page isn't redirecting properly
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.
This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies."
The page has the "Try Again" button, and if I click it I get a blank white page with the text: "Exception: SQLSTATE[23000]: Integrity constraint violation: 1048 Column 'access_token' cannot be null"
Chrome says: "This webpage has a redirect loop.
The webpage at dahub.x10host.com/contest/subm… has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer.

It seems unlikely that this is a problem on my end, as far as I can tell from the information Firefox and Chrome have given. Both browsers are set to accept third party cookies. I just cleared all of my cookies yesterday. Plus, I never use Chrome, so it has no extensions installed, unlike Firefox. Any suggestions? I know I can always submit my info to AnotherContestGroup via note, but I wanted to try their preferred method first.

The system is saying that dA isn't sending the proper authentication data, though I don't know why that would be the case. Have you tried refreshing your cookies after this problem happened?
I can confirm the issue is not on your side. I have a few other ideas, but the above are the first issues that come to mind. I appreciate your help with this problem

Yes, the Submit Contest Form is in my authorized apps (along with my Autodesk Sketchbook app, which I have used before, albeit not recently).
I did go and clear my cookies at your suggestion, but still got the same result in both Firefox and Chrome.

Well, I'm not really sure what to make of this. Can you go to Firefox, click on "Tools", then "Options", then the "Privacy" tab, then set the drop down "Firefox will:" to "use custom settings for history", then click "Show Cookies..." then type in "x10host". Can you tell me what, if any, cookies come up? If you get one called "cookie_code", can you tell me what "Content" it says? (or at least the first few characters it starts with)
After that, try refreshing your cookies and trying the app again. I've deleted your record so you should appear as a fresh user to the app. I've just tried connecting a new account to the app and that worked, so it should be the same for your account. If that doesn't work this may be an issue for the dA staff to resolve

No cookies show up for "x10host" (I do see cookies for dA but there's nothing for the site that hosts the app).
I did try deleting my cookies, but still the same results. I also tried revoking the app's access, then redoing it with Chrome instead of Firefox, but still got the same result.
dA's been acting up for me, so I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Starting last night, dA began giving me constant 403 errors everywhere on the site (my main page, my messages, trying to view or edit my journals, Sta.sh, Help), regardless of whether or not I was logged in or had clear cookies. It continued this morning, but stopped this afternoon. Very random and unspecific.
Well, there's always the "old fashioned" note method. Thanks for your help on this.

Hmm, my records definitely show your browser trying to connect frequently (creating a new session every second or two). It's odd that you are successfully setting up sessions but your cookie isn't getting set
403 errors are a bad sign. That's coming from dA and indicates they're restricting your connection for some reason, and that could well include your access to apps. I'd suggest waiting a day or two and see if you still have the 403 errors and/or can't connect to the app, then contact the help desk
Noting ACG is the best option for now. I'll keep an eye out in case anyone else reports this same issue. Thank you for your help as well

When an user submits a contest to this ""Contest Directory" is it automatically accepted of does it have to be voted for or does someone have do decide if it's going to be in? sorry just curious...

All contests are "accepted" automatically and placed at the end of all search results (but search results are limited and don't always show contests at the end of the list). Once an AnotherContestGroup moderator has reviewed the contest and officially accepted it, the contest appears at the top of the search results and in the group's contest journal.

I did the technical side of this, and that part is done. The mods in AnotherContestGroup manage which contests are approved and appear in the widget
