I have seen his version, Raditz is no coward, in my version he changed becuase he told Goku his plan to rebel againts Freeza when he was holding his tail, seriusly Toriyama really dropped the ball on making the heartless p*ck Vegeta good but Raditz & Nappa bitting the dust.
Due to it being a director's cut story, Raditz took the death beam on himself when Freeza shot it at SSJ Goku, Raditz's death make Goku furius
BT2's what if was actually good, he spended time with his brother, nephew and even dreamed of his father, then in an act to make his brother proud he killed himself with Nappa & Vegeta
But i know where are you getting at, Freeza will have no problem killing Goku in his 1st form since Goku never met northen Kaio and learn kaioken
