Description ☆ Bugzzy (バグジー) has the honor of being an actual miniboss, and actual greatest Helper ever (!), offering up the mighty Suplex Ability in Kirby Super Star, and its Nintendo DS remake, Kirby Super Star Ultra. In Kirby's Adventure and ITS remake, Nightmare in Dream Land, Bugzzy originally yielded the Backdrop Ability... however, for all intents and purposes, both Abilities are essentially the same, functionally- grabbing the opponent and then body-slamming them in one of 5 directions. Who knows why they chose a giant stag beetle to give this wrestling motif (Actually, Daimyo knows! But, more on that later...) Though, the developers have indeed created a true Beetle Ability, appearing recently in Kirby Triple Deluxe, Bugzzy is sadly left out of the fun, and hasn't appeared in a new mainseries Kirby title since KSSU. But, boy is he fun to play as in that game! Like Bonkers, he is larger in size than the majority of other Helpers. And, with that size comes some serious power! Bugzzy's primary skill is grappling, so he can be a bit tricky for casual players used to the direct death-blows of other playable characters. You control the big beetle as he rushes forward with his giant jaws outstretched, ready to grab any small enemy or projectile in his path. After Bugzzy has his target in hold, he is actually invincible for a few seconds- which can add serious strategy to the game, if you can time his attacks right. From here, Bugzzy can perform one of nine various Suplex throws (lariats, pile drivers, stomps, etc) instantly ending whoever was unfortunate enough to be in his grip. But, that's not all! If the target in question was sent flying by one on his throws, it automatically becomes a damage-dealing projectile of it's own, sending major damage to any foe it connects with. The only bad part about Bugzzy is actually that last part, when fighting other minibosses or proper bosses, you need to wait before they attack and provide ammo to grab... and then HOPE that they don't dodge the object you hurl at them. It basically comes down to playing as Kirby-sans-Abilities at that point, but at least you can go all Scrooge McDuck and multi-bounce on boss's heads with the downward Pinpoint Kick (Suplex's ONE direct attack) to whittle down lifebars, buying time until that next attack to spawn.

☆☆ Bugzzy may be my favorite one of Kirby's Helpers. I love his color scheme of blue and violet, with a hint of yellow-orange sprinkled in. His design and overall form is also very appealing to me. I like how he is slightly more detailed than the rest of the gang, and how his size makes him stand out. My favorite facets of his design have to be those mighty mandibles and wings that never seem to close, but always manage to make him visually stunning from any angle viewed. Fun fact- though Bugzzy as a Helper cannot use his wings to fly like he can when fighting him as a miniboss, you CAN actually make him stay in the air, as sort of a simulated flight. Whereas other Helpers use multiple jumps- which gradually get weaker and weaker until you can no longer keep yourself airborne (unlike Kirby, with infinite jumps, or characters that use Wing or Jet Abilities, who can actually fly) Bugzzy will not loose this secret jumping ability over time/use. Try it next time you're fighting Kracko, and you need to position yourself just right above him to deliver an endless stream of kill-kicks from the sky upon the cycloptic cloud. Another factoid you may not have caught is, if you press B to attack after grabbing an enemy with Bugzzy, his double jaws will actually merge into one, essentially transforming him from a stag beetle into a rhinoceros beetle for a split second. Here's one more- miniboss Bugzzy is a great parent (and asexual?), sending his ladybug children flying at you in pairs as a ranged-attack. The more you know~!

☆☆☆ Bugzzy is a wrestling beetle. Why is that? Japanese-culture-trivia to the rescue! The Japanese love their bugs. In fact, many Nintendo games (Legend of Zelda, Pokemon, Animal Crossing) have concepts that have sprung from game designers' fond childhood memories of going out and hunting for bugs in the wilderness. What would they do with the bugs they catch? Hold wrestling competitions to see whose big bad beetle borg is the bestest, you bet! Two beetles are put into a ring together, and whichever one is able to push the other out, turn their opponent over, or otherwise dismember them with those crushing jaws, perhaps- is the winner, sort of like sumo! I'd like to see a normal stag beetle lift an opponent up, and then Seismic Toss them into submission. But then again, that's what we have good ol' Bugzzy for. Gotta love him!

Edit: corrected title spelling. OMG, does spelling this guy's name give me trouble! I'm sure I spelled it wrong (Buggzy) instead of "Bugzzy" about 75% of the time writing the description. Anyway, thanks for viewing and understanding
