I'm not seeing as many this year, and when I do the light isn't always cooperating

I'm hoping that when my butterfly bush blooms, I'll see more butterflies in general - at this point I'm not hoping for a certain species...just any butterfly will make me smile at this point!

It's cool that they remind you of your grandmother

It's odd because I miss her more when I haven't seen any butterflies in a while. Strange how we equate memories that way. But yes, cool at the same time.

My mother use to make home made bread when I was little (back in the early 70s -dating myself ) and to this day I can think of it and actually smell the bread...

Thanks
When the light is good it's easy to get that dreamy color and contrast.

I think I like this one better than the other... they both have great qualities, but I find the background in this one more suitable for the soft nature of the butterfly, plus the colors complement its wings

This is one of the best captures of a blue I have ever seen. Great work.

Stunning work, beautiful colour contrast. I only wish the grass to the top right wasnt such a distraction. Perhaps you could darken it a little?

Thanks Alex
I could tone it down, but then I think it might look odd when compared to the butterfly -the light is hitting both the grass and the critter equally.

Thanks
I got a break on that one -the light was coming through some tall grass to my left and it painted the background for me. All I had to do was position myself to compose for it.
