Description
I went looking for a high magnification head on angle and found this composition.Tech Specs: Canon 1D Mark III (F10, 1/250, ISO 100) + a Canon MPE-65mm macro lens (@ almost 4x) + a diffused MT-24EX (0 FEC). I used a grape leaf to keep the background from being black.

I was going to use some pun to comment on this picture like "now I get what the buzz is about" but I couldn't think of anything clever, because I'm tired. So, I'll just stick to saying that this is, quite simply, an excellent shot!

wow! which distance did you have by this shot? With a 65mm macro lens these eyes are very big! Did you crop this file?

At 4x the critter was about 1.7" from the front of the lens. I never crop my images -always frame with the view finder.
