Description The effect you see in the upper left and lower right corner is all natural folks -I was shooting through some leaves to get to the Skipper.

Tech specs: Canon 40D (aperture priority F5.6, ISO 200) + a Canon 180mm L macro lens with an 81A warming filter. No flash and hand held using a piece of cane to steady the lens ("hillbilly monopod").

I agree with ~Jack070 , it looks more like 1/500s F11.0 Or, in other words: splendid macro!

It's interesting to see this one resembles my recent [link] although I was using a 28-135mm zoom lens and couldn't get the clarity you achieved. I checked the cost of a Canon 180mm L macro lens, and found it was over $1300. Ouch!

A prime lens will generally give you a sharper image than a zoom lens.

Jesus, no flash + f 5.6 + 1/200 (!!!!) = SUCH bright & clear shot?
Had to be really perfect light there, it's great!
