This is something I've been wanting to try for a while - a straight recreation (as opposed to the mash-up cover recreations I've done in the past) of the cover of one of the comics that helped change me into a comic fan as a kid.In this case, Power Man/Iron Fist 50 - the first issue with the shared title between both characters.
The original cover was created by Dave Cockrum and Irv Watanabe (although it looks more like Mike Zeck to me), copyright Marvel Comics.

I haven't really dipped my toe that far back with recreations - I've been mostly focusing on 1977-1984 (my 'golden age' of reading comics as a kid).Β
I have been thinking of doing some older ones, though... that Superboy and the Legion logo, though... yikes!Β

if i recall correctly,i read that it was originally just the iron fist/luke cage figures pencilled by rich buckler and inked by dave cockrum-editorial thought it was weak and needed more elements to it and had cockrum finish it up with more figures and backgrounds which he both pencilled and inked-awesome job-captured misty knights face perfectly

I always liked this comic!Β Nothing cosmic with these guys; just some great adventures ... I think the closest they got to something Earth shaking was teaming up with Rom Spaceknight.

Well, any work you do is good work. You do have a knack for really imitating various art styles and making your recreations look flawless. Do what inspires you, be it recreations, mash-ups or original work-- it all looks good to me.
