Description (Download for full view) ([link] to Rainmeter Config)

So a friend of mine sends me this pic of the Enterprise from the movie this past summer: a 6600x6600 full rez HD pic of the ship was relased by the studio. He wanted it as a 1300x wallpaper but didn't know how to go about shirking / cutting it down without losing teh awesomsauce. While I as at it I made one for my desktop too.

But in the end that wasn't enough for me, I wanted inside the ship not outside and started digging around online seeing if there was anything to turn my entire desktop into the LCARS (Library Computer Access/Retrieval System) interface.

There were lots of images, but only a couple actual interfaces, and non supporting 1680x1050. Then I found Rainmeter [link] , and after a lot of tinkering around I managed to completely eliminate the need for my desktop shortcuts or start menu.

All links are fully functional and easily customizable so as my program use changes I can switch up the names and links without having to remake actual buttons in photoshop. I've scaled it back to 1024x768, 1280x800, and 1440x900 resolutions but might require futher tweaking on actual systems. I've only tested them by scaling my desktop and other computers seem to have different pixel positions.

If anyone wants to test them out, I can upload the zip file with the rainmeter configs to play around with.

I don't know if this is a deviantart limitation or just the way it was saved/uploaded, but JPEG is best for photos, not something like this with well-defined edges and details. This would be much better in PNG format, assuming that there's still an original without the compression artifacts.
