Age of Dragon


Different food and beverages you can encounter in Argos.

  • Ale, dark
  • Apples
  • Apples, dried
  • Apricots, dried - sun-dried fruits.
  • Baked milk - milk, left in an oven to simmer for several hours. A bit sweeter then normal milk, and stores better.
  • Bannock - simple bread of Avalon origin, made of barley meal, milk, butter and salt, cooked on pan or flat stone.
  • Barberry - rather tart-tasting berry, often used in culinary.
  • Barley flour - usually, it's better to make your fresh bred on the spot, then carry week-old stale bread from nearest town.
  • Beef, dried
  • Beer, wheat
  • Beef broth, condenced - heavy broth, dried to solid form. Just add to boiling water for some soup.
  • Beet
  • Bilberry
  • Boiled egg
  • Brandy - hard liquer, usually distilled by alchemists, monks and witches.
  • Bread
  • Buckwheat with onions - common peasant's dish.
  • Butter - salted butter, for better storage. Keep it closed.
  • Cider, apple
  • Cheese, hard - sheep or cow milk cheese, aged for several months, or even years. Good for travels.
  • Chicken, roasted
  • Chanterelle
  • Fjólskapp - edible mushroom, cultivated by dwarves
  • Flatbread
  • Garlic - it's healthy! Also, may scare off some vampires.
  • Grape
  • Honey - most popular sweetener. Modern sugar is EXTREMLY expensive.
  • Leek and potato soup
  • Lentil soup
  • Mead
  • Medlar - fruit with a lot of vulgar nicknames. Hard and sour, when picked fresh, after several weeks of storage it becomes sweet and tasty.
  • Melon
  • Onion
  • Parsnip
  • Peas, dried
  • Peas porridge
  • Penny bun - large, tasty mushroom.
  • Potato, baked - cooked in campfire embers.
  • River carp - unlike hunting, fishing is unlikely to get you in trouble. So, it's better to carry around your fishing kit.
  • Quark pastry - baked pastry with quark of Imperial origin.
  • Rusks - double-baked wheat bread
  • Sausage - cured, dry, fermented and hardened. Even unsealed, is edible for a month.
  • Sausage roll - most common street food in Western Argos.
  • Tea, compressed - compressed tea cakes were initially imported from Far East and became very popular all across Argos - even among elves and dwarves you can find tea-drinkers. Tea cakes are often used by peasants as barter currency..
  • Tobacco - also known as "pipe weed".
  • Trout, dried - may need beating before eating...
  • Vegetable stew - your common dinner in the tavern.
  • Venison pastry - baked pastry with venison and vegitables of Avalon origin.
  • Wine, red
