Imperial Japanese Army (IJA)

Standard officer's sword. Unlike in most modern human countries, Japanese officers carries their swords on daily basis. This is a symbol of his duty.

IJA regulations allows to use ancestral blades instead of standard-issued. Some of these blades were forged more then thousand years ago - long before space exploration. Most famous of that swords was forged by Honjo Masamune, carried by current daigensui (grand marshal-admiral, five-star admiral in charge of a fleet, stationed in Japanese capital system, Amaterasu) of Imperial Japanese Space Navy.
