Description
Progress steps for this work:Sharing my rather chaotic painting process
I usually start out with a sketch. My sketching style is rather chaotic, but it's more about finding the lines than about making everything correct. I tend to erase as little as possible during sketching.
After sketching I block in values (black and white). This is mainly to see what works without getting distracted by all of the colors.
Third step is blocking in with colors. I usually get myself a new layer and use "color" as a blending mode. Sometimes I get through multiple color schemes until I find one that works.
Everything after that is just refinement and such

I don't know... For some reason I think I like frame 3 better than even the finished product. The vacancy of the eyes and sketchiness combined with color really does something for me.

When you see progress part 3 and 4: "Finally it's clean!"

I know an artist using this drawing and coloring technique you used for Step 3 for long.
And people pay a lot for a commission in ..... this style
Glad that you "chaotic" painting process looks way much neater

Maybe
But to me it's just overcharged from this artist to pay for just a scribble done within an hour. Sorry if I need to say it.

No offense, but your sense of humor is dark.

I do have a dark sense of humor, but this one isn't even meant to be funny.
You should probably read the description underneath the original drawing. It makes more sense then.

I'm not saying it's supposed to be funny, because I know it's not. I'm saying that it's dark, but it looks like it's telling a message.

I feel like I should thank you. It's because of your progress pieces like this that I looked into doing value painting first before colour, and I feel it's helped my digital pieces look a lot less muddied, and much better. You are such an inspiration. Thank you

It takes me so long to finish a piece like that and my hand hurts a lot when I'm done, maybe it's just me.

I can't draw really long because of an injury, so I usually spread it out over a few days or weeks and take my sweet time ^^

The cleaning part must take you so long! That's the part I hate the most, turning a dynamic sketch into a still and well defined picture...
Still don't know how to do it
